Be it his most recent single, “Just Believe”, or his soon-to-be released album, Spaces Of Silence, Pont Neuf Records mainstay Tour-Maubourg is a truly eclectic producer. His sound straddles genres with a natural fluidity; from jazz to deep and soulful house, and everything in between. And it’s that everything that makes his new single “I Never Will” so infectious. It’s the second track to be taken from his forthtcoming album, Spaces of Silence on January 27th, setting the stage for a stellar 2023 with plenty more to come from the burgeoning French talent.

"I wanted to create a piece mixing jazz funk and trip-hop inspired by the sounds of Bob James and 70's jazz funk in general, with touches of breakbeat to give it a modern side." - Tour-Maubourg.

Blending the musical influences of the time with a modern twist, “I Never Will” blends the old and the new in perfect harmony. It's the zest of Pierre d'Estienne d'Orves aka Tour-Maubourg that gives birth to such a well-crafted second single, which boasts percussive percussion and a funky, jazz backbone.
Add to this the inspiration of "Bob James and 70s jazz funk in general" and you begin to understand why “I Never Will” is so well balanced, as two worlds come together thanks to Tour-Maubourg's love of the genres that shaped him.

Tour-Maubourg is a leading figure of the current French electronic scene. Spearheading Pont Neuf Records since the label's inception, his releases have made him one of the country's most exciting producers of the genre in recent years. His forthcoming new album Spaces Of Silence further enhances the eclecticism of his sound, forming a body of work that blurs the boundaries of soulful house, nu-jazz and everything in between. Add to this a burgeoning schedule of dates that has seen him play all over France and Europe, and it's clear that 2022 has been the high point of the Frenchman's career, and
that it promises to continue.

"From spearheading France’s jazz-house and electronica scenes, to amassing millions of streams for lauded tracks such as Ode To Love, Manhattan To Brooklyn and Artifice, Tour- Maubourg is a flag bearer for modern French electronic music. Reminiscent of St Germain from years gone by, his maiden album - Paradis Artificiels - received critical acclaim upon its release two years ago.

Now, his new album Spaces Of Silence continues in such a vein, representing a tribute to his home country of Belgium and embodying a year long journey into deep, musical solitude.

“I composed this album in Brussels at my grandparents' house between February 2021 and July 2022 where I set up a small studio. I saw it as a return to my personal roots, as it was the first time since I left Belgium in 2013 that I found myself composing here again. I took advantage of this period away from the overflowing Parisian atmosphere and away from the people I loved who I've been around for seven years, to be truly alone with my music.

The name Spaces of Silence echoes the tinnitus that I have had permanently had since 2018. Silence is a state that I find paradoxically in music, one that allows me not to hear this tinnitus. Each track - each composition - is therefore one of the keys that allows me to find a certain balance. I composed this album with the intention of expressing this notion of noise and silence using tape, cassette, background noise and field recordings." – Tour-Maubourg.
