I limp, yet I have gained  a new gained. The name "Israel"!❤

The Lord’s goal is not to make us powerful Jacobs, but broken Israels — those who no longer rely on the natural life, but who live and walk in union with God. When we are touched by the Lord, we may lose our natural ability, but we gain God Himself as our strength, our blessing, and our new name.

To be Israel is not to be strong outwardly, but to be one who has been touched and subdued by God inwardly. Every “limp” we carry from our dealings with the Lord is precious — it means we have met God face to face. Like Jacob, may we say, “I have seen God face to face, and my life has been preserved.”

Oh Lord, touch us in our strongest part. Subdue our natural strength. Make us those who lean on You, who cling to You, and who walk as Israels — the princes of God, bearing the mark of Your transforming grace!

I am loving this! I just realized that this prayer “Make myself forever limp” really piercing. Unless we come to this point, we won’t be able to surrender ourselves to the Lord and be fully dependent on Him.

A divine view to look at losses;
From being natural we would cease,

From sorrow to praise, to the Christ who is
Exalted to the right hand
of His majesty on high
Who are worthy to be praised

Lord, we set our eyes on You,
Gain our hearts,
Grow in us, more of life to us impart.
In Your image we're conformed and with You, Lord,
