For those of us homesick for 16 Island Lake, here are some recordings from August of 2006 and September 2011 that I made with my Tascam DR-1 portable digital recorder. Some of them are from a window ledge at the cottage, some are from inside the boathouse.  

When I was overseas, listening to some of these recordings were the only way to overcome the hectic traffic sounds of the city and put myself to sleep, for a while. 

So sit back, close your eyes, and picture a summer rainfall or peaceful sunny afternoon.  From my favourite place to yours, enjoy!
