They had survived. 
But at what cost?

Squid pants heavily from the floor, processing what just happened. Saved by her nature, saved by the lightning. If it wasn't for that, she was 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝. She doesn't know how to react. After hyperventilating for a few seconds, her mind returns back to earth, sheathing her sword and eyeing the hand on the floor... her mobility will allow her to survive for a while, but it's either learning to be ambidextrous 𝒏𝒐𝒘 or getting a replacement. She'll think about that after she reunites with everyone. Despite the situation... she's glad to simply be 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 right now.

Norri looks at the reflection in the sludge, putting the newly-acquired hat atop their head. This is their life now. It's their job to make sure no more friends, no more allies, 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 dies. Lil Darkie was a test of their determination- and they passed. They get up, pick up their bat, and start heading off. Ready to make more preparations and bash the skulls of that god-forsakened QOTD Brigade 𝒊𝒏. Losing their left arm is only a temporary struggle that they'll figure out.

The two survivalists leave their battlefields- mirrors of each other, but with the same objective in the back of their minds.

The singing of a hummingbird can be heard, perched on a nearby tree, before flying away.

Despite everything, if only for a few moments.... things are peaceful.
