Tristan Douglas returns to Planet Mu with his third Antwood album, the epic ’Delphi’.

Tristan has always used conceptual frameworks to facilitate the writing process and ‘Delphi’ is no exception. This time Tristan worked with his girlfriend Olivia Dreisinger to develop a fictional character: the young lovelorn Delphi. She is represented throughout by a recurring melody, with the album developing the story around her. Deeper than this however, ‘Delphi’ represents the hurdles faced by modern lovers, and those felt personally by Tristan, as the album encompasses a wide range of his emotions. The character ’Delphi’ finds solace in escaping to a place, her namesake, the ancient Greek city. She gets lost in her fantasy, realising it is not as she had idealised.   

“Olivia and I started making the album cover as soon as I knew what direction ‘Delphi’ was headed in. I took objects that had significance to me at the time of production and physically recreated them as “Delphi world” objects, so that the album’s narrative and each track are represented in the cover photo. If you flip the album over, there is a computer rendering by Paulin Rogues of the two landmarks in the ancient city of Delphi - not quite ancient or modern Delphi, somehow real life but also fantastical.” 

Delphi is an album where the real and the fantastic combine, where functional club music meets evocative piano miniatures. “I ended up working on ‘Delphi’ for over a year, where it developed and grew in parallel to my own life. It became story-like, and I embraced the story-like quality of it.” Perhaps the story of ‘Delphi’ is the story of our own lives.

The mutual trust and respect has been REAL ever since and we’re so humbled she’s given us this futuristic slab of BEAT-HEAVEN for us all to throw ourselves around the room to. FUN FACT: L U C Y wears a mask over her mouth because of how much she drools over the equipment when she plays out. DJs such as Kahn, Pinch and Objekt to name a few have all complained about having to follow her to the point where Kahn now just wears gloves every time he plays out "Just incase SHE’s there”.

On today’s episode Jared talks with Joey Holder, who is known for her installations, videos and web-based projects that speak to themes of contemporary myth-making, science, ecologies and online culture.

Joey has held solo exhibitions at the likes of Matt’s Gallery London, Wysing Arts Centre and Sonic Acts Amsterdam. Her shows create expansive mixed media environments—for instance her most recent exhibition 'Semelparous'—in which the artist’s work occupied a disused swimming pool and leisure centre left to ruin in North London.

Edited Arts is launching Serotonin, the second in a new series of charity fundraising compilations.

Serotonin features contributions by some long-lasting friends and new found collaborators ; Dane Law, DIDA, dj celes, Eye Measure, FARWARMTH, Felisha Ledesma, Georgie McVicar, hogobogobogo, IVVVO, KMRU, Lauren Duffus, Lenticloud, Monofee, mu tate, Nexcyia, onybdy, Shit Creek, SPECIMENS and 空蟬(Cicada Shell)

Cherubic voices, sparkling drums, and drones on their way back home from an all-nighter set the scene for this compilation. 19 artists have made sonic references to the hormone that acts to regulate our wellbeing. This is the second release from a series that is musically themed on psycho-sensory states of happiness, or the lack thereof.

Profits from this release will go to the Black Cultural Archives and Raw Music Media. 2 Brixton based organisations / charities.

Eye Measure - Every Cell

2020, AKA The Year of Delivery. Waimai. Food delivery. Virus delivery. Vaccines. And now, at the end of 2020, Love Bang has something to deliver too. 

We’ve spent the last ten years swimming in the cartoon dimension and creating chaos. Parties are in our blood, but they only last one night. Music lasts as long as plastic delivery containers. Time on earth is short, so we’re launching a label to start releasing music. 

Our first release, "Delivery", is a compilation of footwork, bass, club trax, and delivery anthems made in 2020 by friends we’ve met during the Love Bang adventure: Ceezy, Gouachi, Graphic Violence, Heatwolves, MMQ, Swimful, Vorbi, and Tsui Honagi, a.k.a. Dirty K, who mastered the whole project. We've traveled together through airports and train stations during pandemic times as well as “normal” times. We've played shows and emerged from clubs into daylight together. We've grown together. May this be the first of many Love Bang releases!
