S.O.D aka Sounds of Distortion aka Lloydy Spence mixes a range of harder styles from classic hardstyle to mainstream gabber, up-tempo hardcore and frenchcore. Resident dj for HELL IS HARD and AUDIO GENOCIDE, two big UK events that always pull in a big crowd and host some of the best UK djs and up and comers. This year he aims to bring his unique style of mixin & only the best tunes to many other events in the UK near you.

Eight years ago S.O.D started mixing on turntables, after a couple of years’ experience playing vinyl he progressed with the times and started using cdjs. He found his niche in the darker side of music and was soon getting booked to play his first love of classic hardstyle and gabber at local events. In 2010 he ran the very successful event QUARANTINE which drew coaches of people to the south coast and packed out the dancefloor.

Along with his two residencies S.O.D has featured on the lineup of many UK events like CORE BLIMEY, CRITICAL MASS, CONTACT and SECRET SOCIETY. He also featured on TOXIC SICKNESS radio playing gabber and frenchcore guestmixes which were hugely popular with listeners, the most recent ‘french nuissance’ mix saw over 1200 plays in under a month. He’s booked to return to toxic sickness and play at several of the above events again in 2014, favouring the harder faster styles at around 200bpm and strictly no cheese.

After a thriving 2013 this year is set to follow with lots of achievements on the horizon. Frenchcore will play a big part in S.O.D’s musical direction in 2014, with bookings already confirmed up and down the country. He aims to bring the pumping sounds of naughty French kicks into the spotlight this year progressing the frenchcore scene and widening its exposure. Part of this endeavour includes a collaboration with dj RELAPSE, this UK frenchcore duo titled ORGANIC MECHANICS are booked to play their debut at Hell is Hard presents HEADFUCK RECORDS WORLD TOUR.
