Here is the debut EP from Manchester producers Tom Lonsboroough and Col Hamilton, known as 2 Billion Beats with the Musics Alfresco EP.


Things kick things off with the uptempo ‘The Moodymann’, a funk fuelled cut of bottom heavy laden disco house. Retro synth bass with an acidic twist, rolling house rhythms and keys create a melodic yet dancefloor orientated vibe and a slightly old school feel. 

Next up, ‘Secret Sub Disco’ journeys into more laid back disco territory with layers of melody washing over bubbling bass and relaxed rhythms to create a decidedly chilled vibe with some added in some acidic arpeggiated lines. 

Finally 2 Billion Beats deliver ‘Lunar’, a deep and delightful slice of balaeric tinged house built around bass stabs, breaks and a rolling Rhodes key loop.

Here comes a first EP by Josh Ludlow for Toy Tonics. Mastermind of Make a Dance aka M.A.D records. London’s best kept secret (or not so secret anymore) of new underground dance weapons that are played by everybody who counts in the scene. 

Josh delivers a hot 4-tracker that will move people on dance floors worldwide. Combining 1990ies filter house influences, 2000s indie dance and some of the edgy contemporary funk moods that are lighting up clubs these days. The post - techno generation likes it funky, and Josh delivers. Fitting perfectly with the vibe of Toy Tonics, this EP will find a lot of friends. In fact, Josh knows how things work. 

Josh Ludlow has been steadily honing his craft over the past 15 years. Starting out releasing Drum & Bass under the ‘Squash!’ moniker in the late 2000s whilst also playing drums in bands. The former gave way to live touring, and it was only in 2020 when Josh resurfaced with some new electronic music. 

The impetus for releasing this new material was when Josh Ludlow & Ben Lewis formed their beloved project ‘Make A Dance’ (which then went on to establish the imprint), M.A.D Records during the pandemic.
Since then M.A.D have made a big impact on the underground scene, become regulars at places such as Fabric, Heideglühen, Gottwood and gained DJ support of people such as Laurent Garnier, Optimo, Palms Trax and Peggy Gou and across BBC Radio1 and regularly cover show’s on NTS for Long Running Host’s Moxie and Apiento.

This is just the beginning.

Toy Tonics presents the second EP of London talent GUINNY. Singer, DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. On her new EP, GUINNY has put the dance floor at the center of the music. ‘Money Don’t Love Ya’ combines deeper club rhythms with raw, edgy soulful jazz harmonies, vocal licks and proto rap. Rhythmically, this EP leans more towards Deep House; however, you also have flavors from the 80ies with arpeggiator synths, as well as organic textures using layers and layers of violins and vocals, creating a real character to the sound.

GUINNY grew up learning violin from the age of 3. She went on to teach herself piano, guitar and singing by listening to all her favorite jazz and soul voices and trying to copy them! Aretha, Eartha Kitt, Nina Simone to name a few. While vocally she has been compared to the likes of Róisín Murphy and Jorja Smith, her production techniques showcase her soulful vocals in a fresh new way. She studied production, engineering and sound design at ‘Point Blank Music School’, one of the best music production schools in the world. Diving into the DJ scene 3 years ago, GUINNY is fast becoming one of London’s most exciting underground disc jockeys, playing at some of London’s best music institutions, including Village Underground, The Jazz Cafe, The Royal Albert Hall,  XOYO. Recognized for her eclectic taste as well as her magnetic energy with the crowd. Breaking onto other scenes around Europe this year such as Paris, Milan, Lisbon, GUINNY also notably made her Berghain debut last year and was welcomed back in November for her 2nd appearance in the iconic Panorama Bar.

Toy Tonics does the Spanish proto Hip-House! New artist ALOT, living in New York but comes from Argentina. 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist, rapper, producer, writer and skater who moved to the big apple right after school, trying to "make it" in the hometown of Hip Hop and street culture. His sound is infected by NYC culture in the late 80ies, when early rap and the Latin Bronx culture mashed up, when old school Breakdance Music started to morph into early Dance Music and the Disco clubs were thriving. The Latinos met Afro-American culture and big new underground movements were born, which were the foundation of street style, fashion and music trends over the last years. ALOT the youngster, goes back to the origins and brings up his very own, super fresh, totally rocking proto-house rap in a Latino way.
