Masterful producer @YUKSEK returns to RNT with the Déjà Vous EP of all-original modern disco. She’s Mine leads with a rolling percussive beat and Italo baseline and layers emotive piano chords and plaintiff vocals, to hearken back to a nostalgic era of indie disco. On the flip side, the EP title track collab with Brazilian producer Diogo Strausz brings expected tropical flavor, and All Night feels a bit French-touchy with it’s infectious phase effected vocal loop. Italo house at its best! This track is a new version of a tune that originally came out in 2014. produced by Toy Tonics boss Kapote.
Originally released under his former producer name MUNK. It sounds fresher now than back then, when it was too much ahead of its time.

This track works on any dance floor. It brings this special new school Italo vibe to every party. Made by Kapote back then when he was producing indie dance.
In case you don't know: Kapote used to produce music under the name MUNK and run an indie dance label called GOMMA. Back in the late 2000s he was producing music with LCD Soundsystem, Peaches, WhoMadeWho, The Rammellzee and others.  Now, Toy Tonics re-releases the song in a new version. Including remixes by Musumeci, Romain FX, Azari & III and Audiojack.

Building slowly at first with layered percussion, Meg’s spoken vocal dances poetically around themes of disillusionment and alienation with our modern digital age. As the instrumentation opens up into stabbing synths and growling bass, the track climaxes in a repeated vocal chant.

Waves Within is a genre-blending triumph from Mexican producers Luca Ferrand and Selva in which they serve up sounds that evolve through deep house, broken beat, jazz, nu-disco and hip-hop. Opener 'Bona Fide' pairs dusty jazz and disco-house with a slick hip-hop switch and some superbly sunny melodies. 'Zarapes (After the Rain)' marries Mexican folk and broken beat, then 'Back To That Thang' twists jazz guitar into a genre-fluid ride and the title track evokes tropical 90s house. Closer 'Lynx' is a shapeshifting house cut with bulbous bass and sophisticated sound design that really brings it to life.

It's time to set those jaws to wobble mode as this funky favourite label is back with more serious sounds for the disco, this time from Hysteric. 'Italo Mystery Theme' is a brilliant timewarp to the 80s with its overtly streamy and seductive vocals over neat guitars and stepping disco drums with lush chords. 'After Dark' is more breezy and hip-swinging with its airy vocals and wet claps, then 'Sugar Daddy Again' brings rugged analogue bass sounds and snappy drums under some erotic vocal work. 'All Right' shuts down with a UK street soul-cum-disco groover that's lit up with nice neon chords.
