Toy Tonics presents the second EP of London talent GUINNY. Singer, DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. On her new EP, GUINNY has put the dance floor at the center of the music. ‘Money Don’t Love Ya’ combines deeper club rhythms with raw, edgy soulful jazz harmonies, vocal licks and proto rap. Rhythmically, this EP leans more towards Deep House; however, you also have flavors from the 80ies with arpeggiator synths, as well as organic textures using layers and layers of violins and vocals, creating a real character to the sound.

GUINNY grew up learning violin from the age of 3. She went on to teach herself piano, guitar and singing by listening to all her favorite jazz and soul voices and trying to copy them! Aretha, Eartha Kitt, Nina Simone to name a few. While vocally she has been compared to the likes of Róisín Murphy and Jorja Smith, her production techniques showcase her soulful vocals in a fresh new way. She studied production, engineering and sound design at ‘Point Blank Music School’, one of the best music production schools in the world. Diving into the DJ scene 3 years ago, GUINNY is fast becoming one of London’s most exciting underground disc jockeys, playing at some of London’s best music institutions, including Village Underground, The Jazz Cafe, The Royal Albert Hall,  XOYO. Recognized for her eclectic taste as well as her magnetic energy with the crowd. Breaking onto other scenes around Europe this year such as Paris, Milan, Lisbon, GUINNY also notably made her Berghain debut last year and was welcomed back in November for her 2nd appearance in the iconic Panorama Bar.

Toy Tonics does the Spanish proto Hip-House! New artist ALOT, living in New York but comes from Argentina. 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist, rapper, producer, writer and skater who moved to the big apple right after school, trying to "make it" in the hometown of Hip Hop and street culture. His sound is infected by NYC culture in the late 80ies, when early rap and the Latin Bronx culture mashed up, when old school Breakdance Music started to morph into early Dance Music and the Disco clubs were thriving. The Latinos met Afro-American culture and big new underground movements were born, which were the foundation of street style, fashion and music trends over the last years. ALOT the youngster, goes back to the origins and brings up his very own, super fresh, totally rocking proto-house rap in a Latino way.

J. Peacock is back for the Dirt Crew Summer take over once more! After his last collab release with Laurence Guy on “Shall Not Fade” in March this year we are delighted to welcome him again with four new deep and funky tunes.

“I’m Doing Just Fine”  is all about the strings. There's a certain feeling in northern soul records – cinematic, bittersweet – and sampling that energy became the starting point for the whole EP. On this track, the vocal hides just behind the strings, giving it a hazy feel. A loopy, dreamlike cut nods to the 2016 lo-fi house era. “Keep Running ” has a swelling, string-led groove built around a hypnotic soul sample. “Deep Burnt” is one of J. Peacock’s all-time favourite tracks and a big influence here. Urgent and euphoric, a driving rhythm with strings to carry the emotional weight.

“Can’t Go Nowhere” is a slower, more restrained moment on the EP. Inspired by the likes of Cottam, Mark E, and Tiger & Woods, this is a chugging, early-hours builder made for warm-up sets and low ceilings. A nod to the art of holding back just enough to keep people moving. “Hometime” brings together two of his favourite things: dusty soul samples and the raw grit of the MS-20. The analogue synth gives the track it’s edge, the bassline is constantly shifting and alive while the smoothness of the sample keeps everything in check.
