This next Toy Tonics EP takes one more step into a futuristic sound that connects Broken Beat, House & Neo Soul.
The EP was produced by Fényan. France based dancer and producer (originally from Martinique) who hooked up with Kosmo Kint.  Soul singer raised in New York and since one year part of The Toy Tonics crew in Berlin.

Fényan & Kosmo Kint met shortly after Kosmo Kint's first release on Toy Tonics (the „Get Lost“ EP with french producer Mangabey). Together they created three magic sparkling pieces of music. A unique sound inspired by the UK Jazz sound and the broken beat scene. A great further step in the evolution of uptempo Neo Soul dancemusic.

Fényan's rhythms are special. The groove is unique. This music makes you dance differently. No wonder as Fényan (his real name is Kwame)  is a professional dancer. 
He is travelling around the world teaching dancing with his own dance company and is a judge on international dance battles. Besides dancing, he has been producing beats since the age of 19 on his MPC. Influenced by the great names of deep jazz and fusion, but also inspired by the music from his origin Martinqiue: Zouk, Biguine, Bélè… you can feel this in the programming of his beats.

Besides the MPC Fényan tried many instruments, but mainly it’s the keyboards and the trumpet what he feels well with intuitively.
Kosmo Kint lives in Berlin for three years. He came from NYC where he was singing in Soul bands, hanging out with musicians and also writing songs for other artists. He is one of the many artists that moved from the big apple to Berlin recently. He joined the Toy Tonics crew almost 2 years ago to work on new styles between House and Soul. Disco and R&B. In fact there is a big movement of international top musicians coming to the German capital. It's not just DJs in Berlin. But a huge community of ex-pad musicians working on all kind of styles. Mixing the European electronic dancefloor music with all kinds of vibes and influences. And many of these musicians find a new home on Toy Tonics records.

Fényan X Kosmo Kint - Break Your Rules

After a series of singles and an album (Sickla) Opolopo returns to Local Talk with a reworks album where he was given free choice to 'tweak' his personal favorites from the Local Talk vault. Over the 10 tracks Opolopo has chosen to tweak tracks from Jamie 326 & Masalo, Soulphiction (RIP), Kiko Navarro, DirtyTwo and Soul Renegades to name a few. As always with Opolopo the soul is ever-present but musically you'll find everything from deep house, disco, jazz-ish grooves and electronic house. Together with Opolopo's trademark sound, additional production and arrangements they are more remixes than reworks in our opinion.

London’s Release/Sustain (@releasesustain) imprint returns this May with the "A Says Hello" EP from Detroit’s Alton Miller, with Chaos In The CBD stepping in for the remix duties.

Detroit’s Alton Miller has been in the game for the past three decades coming up alongside luminaries Derrick May, Chez Damier and the late Frankie Knuckles and releasing material on the likes of Peacefrog, Moodymann’s Mahogany Music, Theo Parrish’ Sound Signature and Clone amongst others. Suffice to say, Miller stands as an extremely important figure in the history of authentic, soul-drenched House music.

‘Cool But So…’ borrows both from the old and the new, tinged with an Acid-Jazz flare while sounding updated and fresh. Broken and shuffling rhythms are held together by cascading pads and washes. Made for the club, Alton Miller gives the drums 32 at the end for an oh-so-smooth transition out.

I recently went through a painful experience that brought about a new level of power and reason that I put to verse and rhythm. This lamentation will be the first single from my new Album "Romantic Flight". For some reason I just could not finish it before, now I know why.
