Toy Tonics signed a band! Yes! After developing many DJ producers like COEO, Cody Currie and Sam Ruffilo now the Berlin imprint comes up with an electronic band! Baby's Berserk come from Amsterdam. 2 guys and 2 girls who studied art and fashion design and love 80ies dance pop dance bands like Talking Heads, New Order or the 2000’s LCD Soundsystem. They have a big love for 1980ies music and try to conect it with today's indie aesthetics.
You might know some members of the band from their other activities: One member of the band makes clothes for UK popstars like ADELE and the other band boss is Mano Hostelle. He is also part of Mauskovic dance band and other buzzed indie electronic bands from Amsterdam and Berlin.

The debut album of  Baby's Berserk has been released in fall 2023 but here we come with a remix EP of their album. To introduce the music via the dancefloors.
Remix comes from Niklas Wandt (the German jazz drummer and lofi house producer.). The Indie rock hero Kris Baha did a remix as well as Nicolini (from world famous Mauscovic Dance Band).

Indie dance is coming back and Toy Tonics has the band for it! Kids will love Baby's Berserk!

While waiting for the third 7-inch vinyl of the Apparel Wax MINI series, let’s introduce the first single of the record: MINI003A. This superb tracks drops in mid-December and features some classic Funky-House styling cues, such as sirenic string pads, glamorous funk guitar riffs, a vivacious saxophone and flute solo and a nice rhythmic piano in the background, giving the track a premium feel. MINI003A fits exquisitely into the Apparel Wax sonic vocabulary, where electronic music smoothly connects with live music, played by great musicians and put together by great producers.

Released under his relatively newly minted Max Sinàl moniker, the artist who many of you may know as M.A.X., has just delivered this delicious slice of Deep House. Ravage Music is out now as a Traxsource promo and lands every-where else on 22nd Feb via the excellent To The Rock label. It comes with this show-stopping vocal mix and an equally tasty dub mix.

Max Sinàl has already garnered support from Gilles Peterson, Laurent Garnier, Kai Alce, Aroop Roy as well as being named one of DJ Mag’s Best Emerging Artists. Safe to say he's very much one to watch and we will be doing just that. We've got more incoming from Max shortly so make sure that you keep and eye out for that.

This is the third installment in the Local Sugar Diggers Series from Scruniversal in which old and rare records from the label head's friend's collections get reworked and edited. This one is a collab between ScruScru and an equally passionate digger from Cyprus known as Dwaal. Both tunes offer quite different looks but with great results. The first is the steamy and loose-limbed 'Destination? Funk!' with its squelchy bass and neat guitar riffs, while the flipside is a super deep and lush downtempo jam, 'Camelot Chill'. This one has romantic sax notes and gentle grooves with jazzy keys finishing it in style.

PREMIERE: Scruscru & Dwaal - Destination? Funk! [Scruniversal]

Half Dead Dave's debut, Them Salsa People, is a beautifully sweeping EP and showcases his diverse range, bringing together smooth, deep and organic synthesis with ethereal spoken word sampling. 

The EP opens with the title track 'Them Salsa People', a soundtrack to one of those warm and breezy summer nights that tells the tale of dancing to jazz to the old heroes of jazz.

A new Toy Tonics EP. It’s the second by Venezuelan house DJ and producer Gee Lane. Including amazing remixes by NYC mainstay musclecars!

Gee Lane’s debut EP Metamorphosis (with remixes by Demi Riquísimo and Divorce From New York Remix & PIEK ) came out last October. 
But as Virginie (her real name) is a steady name of the Toy Tonics crew now and plays almost every weekend at one of the worldwide Toy Tonics Jams, it makes sense to put out a follow up fast.

Gee Lane originally from Caracas, now living in Barcelona, is a passionate DJ and vinyl digger with an extraordinary positive energy and attitude. A DJ diva in a positive way. A unique personality with a very strong style (in music but also as a person) and very elaborated ability to read and play with the dancers. Like the first EP, this one has also been recorded in Barcelona and Berlin with a little help from Robin Braum from Athlete Whippet. The music reflects well on her roots and passion for everything that came out of New York’s dance culture. You can hear influences from the 80ies promo disco scenes as well as the 90ies Body & Soul/ Francois Kervorkian / Joe Claussell universe. In fact, Gee Lane after being raised in Caracas and musically educated by her father from a very early age (a composer and musician), moved to New York at a very young age in the late 90ies, where she fell in love with the HOUSE scene. And especially everything that happened at the famous and influential 'Body & Soul' club. 

This culture increased her curiosity to become a DJ (and vinyl digger herself) who is not just interested in house music but wants to explore other genres such as funk, Hip-Hop, jazz and Latin sounds and include these vibes into her DJ sets. As vinyl collector (and long-time record shop employee) since then, she is known for her musical eclecticism, which leads her to mix everything she wants...

Mexican singer/percussionist/producer/DJ sensation Pahua comes to Razor-N-Tape via a huge 12” + 7” remix project featuring some of the hottest producer names in current outer-national dance music.  

Originally the singer of beloved Mexican band Sotomayor, Pahua blazed her own solo path in 2020, developing her unique electronic Latin sound through a series of EPs, culminating in the release of her standout Habita LP on Nacional Records in 2023. Garnering millions of streams, Habita established Pahua as an essential voice of modern alternative folk/pop in Latin America, and now Razor-N-Tape brings her sound to the dance floors of the world with a varied remix package that honors the essence of the original music, while flipping it in quintessential RNT club-ready fashion.

The list of remixers on this project includes both staples and new recruits to the RNT production stable. Label co-head JKriv turns in a late-nite bass mix of the exceedingly popular ‘Porque Yo,’ Tigerbalm brings her chugging international disco flair to ‘Pa’lante,’ Prince of Queens digs deep with a housey dub of ‘Calla,’ and Londoner Clive From Accounts takes ‘Caña Brava’ into moody nu-disco meets amapiano territory. The label newcomers also deliver in a huge way, with LA-based Captain Planet and Quebecois producer Poirier each revealing very different but equally banging sides of the uptempo ‘Espantapájaros,’ respectively percussive and thumping, and stripped down and hypnotic. Detroit Latin production legend John Beltran adorns the melancholic ‘Flor de Jazmin’ with a samba-inflected rhythmic foundation and a lush horn arrangement that transports you straight to Cafe del Mar, Ibiza. And Mexican producer Belmar rounds out the package with a slow rolling and deep mix of ‘Porque Yo.’

With a collection of remixes as prolific and solid as these, RNT opted for an expansive 12” + 7” package that features seven of the remixes across the two slabs of vinyl. The gorgeous cover artwork flips the moonrise eclipse motif of the original Habit album cover perfectly, with a slick device that reveals a crescent moon as the record is removed from the jacket.
