To kick off the fourth season of our artist mix series and the launch of TR33TS, we are excited to bring you a mix by Sakura Tsuruta. 

With her intricate blend of dark and ethereal sounds, Sakura Tsuruta continues to push the bounds of what it means to be an electronic music producer and DJ. Her unique style of intertwining dark rhythms with ethereal harmonies and voices takes people to a dystopian world, always keeping the crowd on its toes, longing for more.

The Tokyo-based artist first released her single ‘Dystopia’, in November 2019 via Bardo Records based in Slovenia. The ambient electronica piece broke ground and made its way to the Top 100 Chart in the Electronica/Downtempo. Since then, she has released another EP, ‘Made of Air’ which was released in June 2020.

She continues to live up to her hype in the underground music scene in Tokyo, constantly challenging stylistic and creative boundaries. Sakura has performed audio visual sets alongside asagi (augmented reality designer) as well as collaborated with Manami Sakamoto (visual designer) for an outdoor audio-visual installation in the heart of Tokyo. She has also composed and collaborated with various brands such as Amazon Prime, ATTACHMENT, PERVERZE, THE NORTH FACE, providing a sonic identity to their new works. Her most recent project has been at Creative Media Institute (Yangon, Myanmar) where she teaches music production to support young talents develop their skills and creative voices.

Her global presence has reached the hearts of many, landing her a coveted spot as a resident curator on the Hong Kong Community Radio, as well as a featuring artist at Ableton’s performance video. Her desire to create and innovate her style has elevated her musical performance, truly making it an immersive sensory experience.

Ixindamix has been involved in the European Underground scene for over 25 years, from the early days of Acid House and Travellers free festivals in the U.K through to the first free parties and Teknivals around Europe followed by a relentless gigging schedule spanning 2 decades, bringing up a family and running a successful record label in the meantime.
Now living in Berlin she is involved in various projects and is at present exploring new ways of playing improvised live sets with some of the vast array of new hardware which is being produced, the evolution of music technology being a constant inspiration. The Synthesizer remains her all time love and playing it live a key part of her signature sound. She also continues to DJ a variety of different styles in both vinyl and digital formats.

Junior Simba is a breaking DJ and producer who’s sound truly draws from the elements of his rich musical background. He brings a vibrant, groove heavy rhythm to his sets, with an energy that sits somewhere between Overmono and Jayda G. Originally from Zimbabwe, Junior was brought up surrounded by the sounds of Rhumba, Kwaito and Afro-house. Once exposed to the UK electronic scene when he moved to Leeds in his late teens, his passion for producing and DJing really took flight. Da Vosk Docta is a music producer born in 1991 in Wrocław, Poland. Bored with the making of classic sampled beats, he began experiments with electronic music. Over the years, DVD has created a number of songs that made a big impact among listeners, reaching a total of millions of views and attracting crowds of fans to clubs and festivals. He doesn’t limit himself to one genre, betting on emotions, eclecticism and good taste. However, his style can be described as a mix of future bass, wave and lo-fi style. DVD is referred to as a pioneer of the “wave” and Witch-house genre, especially in Poland, where he has gained a legendary status in the music producers community.
After releasing a bunch of mixtapes and beats, DVD decided to release his first LP Even If U Didn't Expect It in 2017. After warm receive of debut album, he released 4 more albums year by year : 303K (2018), Prototype(2019) and Lo-Fi Is Unwanted Bastard Child Of Jazz (2020)/DOCCI (2020). He also scored music for Sundance award winning movie “All Sleepless Nights” and performed as a headliner of two leading polish festivals : “Up To Date” and “Czelusc Festival”.

DJ Burrito Boy is a dance music producer from Los Angeles. Working primarily in the realm of house and techno, he puts a modern twist on the familiar sounds that shaped 90s dance music.

Bursting onto the LA circuit in 2022, he made a name for himself on TikTok with his livestreamed sets and with the success of his debut single "RAVE Act". Subsequent edits and originals have earned support from DJ's worldwide including Dameeeela and Moskalus, as well as a spot on Spotify's Fresh Finds playlist. He released his debut EP, "You Can Count On Me", in September 2022 and has been cutting his teeth as a DJ in the LA scene.

When he's not producing and spinning dance music, DJ Burrito Boy lives the life of a fourth-year medical student at USC. He aspires to practice as a psychiatrist.

Elliott Saloman is a producer from Weymouth, Dorset who predominantly focuses on the production of Jungle and Breaks.

Elliott's main interest is 160 Jungle, and most of his production efforts focus on building classic recipes, with modern arrangement.

Most recently Elliott has launched his own label 'Choppy Waters' which aims to help push forward the next wave of Jungle & Rave.

Redfreya is drawn to melodic, percussive and hypnotic tracks, weaving deep groove lines with emotive vocals, and always seeking to curate an energetic arc in her sets, enchanting the dancefloor into a spell of dreamy, slightly melancholic nostalgia. Her music effuses emotional resonance and depth.

A lifelong music lover, Redfreya began her musical career in classical music as a flautist, singer and pianist, and was initially inspired by minimalist composers such as Philip Glass, Nils Frahm, Yann Tiersen and The Cinematic Orchestra. ERAM is the project of the multidisciplinary Brazilian artist Marianna Viscaíno, co-founder of ZONAexp and currently a member at TIJOLO Records label, raised in the hoods of Porto Alegre in Brazil where she grew up exposed to the 24h raves that were being held in the city’s rural parts. At age 12 in 2003 she and her friend rode their bikes to a farm where a rave was taking place. And once the gatekeeper had let her in she hasn’t left since.
In 2013 amidst nationwide protests in Brazil the underground rave scene started to become more and more politicized and organizers used these parties to occupy streets, squares and marginalized spaces, regional organizers connected and the movement spread all throughout the country. ERAM joined her peers in 2015, starting to organize parties and more than 10 years after first setting foot onto a rave she picked she left the backend of event production to fight for more female representation in the booth at raves as well and has since become a well-traveled, and one of Brazil’s best DJs in the underground.
Her sets consist of a truly unique blend of urban electronic music of UK as well as US heritage and Brazilian national funk and rap.
Naturally, when you have such a broad style yet specific demands as a DJ, there really isn’t any way around producing your own music, having many years of experience producing with friends, picked it up during quarantine and made the pandemic have at least a single positive outcome.
With her talent spreading, her productions have been played all over the world, resulting on releases with labels from Germany, UK, US and their first UK/European tour in May of this 2022, starting at the Bang Face festival in Manchester, touring clubs and festivals at Portugal, Prague, Paris, Germany and London.
It's clear ERAM has found her own space nestled deep within the hardcore continuum.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Yedgar is an electronic music producer, artist, and DJ who is known for infusing lush melodic bass music with retro fantasy RPG vibes. 

He is a prolific artist in the budding Wave music scene, which has recently begun to emerge from the underground internet scene into a tangible movement worldwide.

Hailing from Poland's cold east-end, enjoii crafts music dominated by dark deep bass interspersed with emotional melodies. He brings his characteristic sound to the fast-growing wave scene and remains strongly connected to the Polish witch house scene. 

In 2018, enjoii released his debut EP ‘life alone’ in London based label
Liquid Ritual, which garnered more exposure and earned him more recognition in electronic music community.

OHYUNG is an Asian American musician and artist based in Brooklyn. Their first album Untitled (Chinese Man with Flame) was released by Deathbomb Arc. In 2020, OHYUNG released their sophomore album PROTECTOR (Chinabot), an experimental rap cross-genre collision course through distorted 808s, pitch-shifted rapping, frenetic pop energy, and ambient loops. Featured in PAPER and Kaltblut, PROTECTOR was described by Bandcamp as “a fascinating, shape-shifting record.” They are a 2021 Pioneer Works Music Resident.

They compose music for films and exhibitions as Robert Ouyang Rusli, and their work has been featured at Sundance, BAMCinématek, the Queens Museum, and BAM Next Wave Festival. In 2017, they received a Van Lier Fellowship in Music Composition from the Asian American Arts Alliance.

iSorin is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and creates melodic music ranging from emotional and thought-provoking to high energy and club-friendly. 

After 15 years of making music, iSorin discovered Wave in 2016 and started releasing music within a year. Vibe.digital released his first EP in 2019, with additional releases from labels such as Imminent, Liquid Ritual, Terrorhythm, Electric Hawk, and YUME collective.

Bristol-based @vexxymusic is carving a new space for his grime and wave cuts, using his unquestionable ability to create vivid productions emerging from the underground UK music scene. 

Exploring subtle influences of RnB and UKG through shifted vocal samples, soaring synths, and sharp, staggering rhythms, Vexxy offers a powerful contrast to the expected constants of grime, breathing new life and a fresh direction into the genre. 

Vexxy has released music on Plasma Abuse and Terrorhythm. Championing and developing this section of the UK music ecosystem, he has received attention from various sources, including legendary grime don and wave originator Plastician and online music publication Dummy Mag. 

Additionally, Vexxy co-runs record label @esclabel, pushing and supporting the growing creators' grime-wave sounds in the scene.
