I put music down in 2015 to pursue new interests. I finished cosmetology school, opened a salon, quit my 9-5, and 2 years later, became an educator and ambassador for some of the biggest brands in the hair care industry – including Babyliss Pro. 

Just as the ascension began, so did COVID-19. Hair shows were canceled for the summer, and the government closed the door of every salon with only 36 hours notice. 

What did I do? I pivoted, stepped behind the microphone again and got to work. Colored by racial tension, COVID-19, global financial calamity and political drama, I wanted to give an honest view into this shift, aiming to impart hope to others.
