End Procrastination Tip 1: Easy or Eat the Frog

Look back to times when you easily (or at least easier than usual) to begin a project. When you think about that time did you do the easy tasks first or did you "Eat the Frog" like Brian Tracy recommends and do the hardest thing first?

End Procrastination Tip 2: Chunking

Do you get overwhelmed with everything that you have to do in the project? Then, break the project down into smaller parts.

Examples:

When calling leads, only have a few (or one if that's all you can handle) person's information in front of you. Then, when you finish, get out the next person's information.
Cover up all but the first item on your to-do list and when you finish that one uncover the next item.
If you're writing a blog post, write it on notepad/TextEdit and only worry about the writing. Then, put it in your blog post. Next, go find a picture and save it and then put it on the post.
End Procrastination Tip 3: Planning

Plan what you will do tomorrow tonight. Planning the night before takes the decision of what to do off of your to-do list. When you sit down, you know what you need to do. Otherwise, you might freeze.

Today I'm gonna talk about the affiliate marketing business model. There are many different types of business models, and this is one of them. What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing means that you are selling a product or a service that you do not personally provide. What do I mean?

For example, Amazon has the biggest affiliate network around. If you go to a blog and someone is talking about an issue, and they say, "Here, this product will solve your problem," and the link goes to an Amazon site, chances are that they will make a few dollars  Amazon, it's really not much. Probably 4% to 10% of whatever that is, they will make as a person who refers Amazon that person. With Amazon, it's a cooler thing, in that ,for a certain period of time, anything they put in a cart, if they buy it within a certain time frame, you get a percentage on all of that, so that makes it a little bit more lucrative. I wouldn't live off of Amazon affiliate marketing, but that's the example to use.

Hi, this is Tracey Hausel from traceylhausel.com. Today we're going to talk about how to get started and stay focused working on your business so that you can get results, get paid.

Going from an employee to working for yourself, being self-employed, being a business owner, can be a big leap. The big reason why is, because as an employee, we're used to being told what to do. 

As a school psychologist, I had a lot more leeway of what I did when but I did have deadlines I had to get things done. There were certain things like if I counseled children, I had to do those certain days of the weeks. 

But for most people coming [from being an] employee, they're literally told, "You're going to do this all day," or "Our teachers are going to teach. They're gonna teach their first period, their second period, if they're [middle] school, they're gonna teach English, math, reading." 

They have a schedule that they have to stick to. Sure, they choose how to teach the subjects but even now in this day and time with common core, they're not choosing the topics themselves.

How do you help yourself get out of that? Treat it like a job. 

Give yourself tasks to do. To get started, the night before setup what you're gonna do the following day. Write it all down. If you wait until the next day when it's time to sit and work, you're gonna freeze. Chances are you're gonna freeze and you're not gonna know what to do. Get it all set up. 

Batch like activities together. If you're doing a bunch of non-live videos, do them all the same day. If you're doing keyword research, do a whole bunch of it at the same time. What this is is it keeps your brain focused on a singular topic, otherwise every time it goes from two totally different topics, your brain stops and has to start all over again and it wastes time and you lose productivity.
