You can tell when Nick Warren's on the decks. The music emanating from the man is that perfect club mix of driving percussion and soaring musicality, bursting out of the speakers, soaking everyone in melody, drenching them in sound. On the floor, where it really matters, his crowd experience all the peaks and troughs that make his music so unique. Locking on early, you'll hear his deeper take on house which morphs, as the club mood changes, into harder territory, music for sweating and losing yourself to.

That's why Nick Warren is so respected, because he knows how to truly work a club, to take a crowd high, then higher again. That's what comes with vision and, just as importantly, experience. Nick, a music obsessive who grew up on punk, reggae and pop was, like so many DJs turned onto the power of house music in the late 80s. Living in Bristol, he'd been playing tunes for a few years before, running his own club night, Wiggle. In 1990, a new house club, Vision took the city by storm and in a perfect bit of timing, he was offered the chance to play in the upstairs room, spinning weird downbeat Balearic records and mixing house with music by The Clash and Frank Sinatra. Catching the attention of a group of guys who had their own band, he was roped in to tour with them as their DJ when they went to play America. The group was Massive Attack.

As their official DJ, he began working on music of his own, even joining the Massive remixing team at one stage. At the same time, people were beginning to notice this quietly-spoken DJ from Bristol, the way that he really understood what made people dance, yet never compromised his vision of what good music should be. Here was someone, the dance music magazines said, who could rock it with the best of them, yet who also stood out as a person with their own unique style, mixing straight up house with trancier material, throwing in breakbeats to keep the flow going, playing the most up to the minute music that somehow also reflected a rich musical heritage. Joining up with another Bristol producer, Jody Wisternoff in 1994 to form Way Out West, they recorded the seminal 'Ajare' single together, a huge progressive house club hit.

Then came 'The Gift', sending Nick and Jody onto Top Of The Pops and catapulting Nick into the league of the superstar DJ. Their album, 'Blue' took every single one of the pair's influences and shaped them into a groundbreaking collection of tracks that stayed in the CD players of the UK and beyond for a long, long time. Nick was now travelling the world as a DJ. Liverpool superclub, Cream offered him a residency in recognition of his talent and in 1999 he recorded his first mix, Prague, for the highly respected Global Underground mix CD series, followed by Brazil, Budapest, Amsterdam, Reykjavik, Shanghai and Paris. At present he is touring the world, working on his new GU album 'Lima' & on a new Way Out West album with Jody. Nick also works as the director of A&R at Hope Recordings.

Born in the ancient town of Patli Putra the land of Lord Buddha, Vinayak Karthikayan’s ("Aka’’ Vinayak^A Producer/Dj (India)) musical journey began at a young age, learning the Tabla, Guitar and Harmonium. Raised in an entirely Indian classical atmosphere gave him a rooted knowledge of rhythm and melody. As years passed, and technology paved the way for electronic music, Vinayak^A decided to study Dj’ing in Bangalore. He then moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream and became an assistant DJ at a Pub where he worked for one and half years. He later got a job at The LeeLa Palace in Bangalore for 6 months. While he worked long hours, he felt the need for more knowledge in sound, and decided to move to Chennai to pursue his audio engineering at (SAE) After he completed the course he was pretty unsure of which direction he wanted to go. He felt that DJ’ing wouldn’t do well for him as there were already a large number of Djs playing popular music. A few years passed by, and Vinayak^A keenly observed and absorbed as much of his environment as he could. And he learnt one important thing. He says “It was all about earning respect and being the best in what you do. With this as his motto, Vinayak^A was determined to harness all his skill and study. And make it. He bought some equipment and locked himself in his studio for 6 Years. His aim was to experiment with various waves in music and sounds from day and night life atmospheres. He recorded all his sounds and designed them to fit in as a story. He tried to record as many abstract elements as possible to create his grooves and fillers. His love for Progressive House music became more interesting and complex he was and still is at ease experimenting on a daily basis. He eventually completed a track but somehow it didn’t sound real enough for his liking. He felt the need for a tighter production and a stronger emotional connection which was lacking. So he then started to create a new vibe with abstract melodies, heavy strings, deep bass lines and funky tight grooves with a pinch of experimental atmospheric sounds. In November 2008 he produced a track called "What’s Stopping You" which was signed onto "BAROQUE RECORDS UK". It was released on January 2009 and was a major release for Vinayak^A as he got massive support from the greats like "Eric Prydz, Daniel Portman, Solarity", etc,. “What’s Stopping You” was in the top 100 for 3 weeks on the Beat Port Progressive House Chart's. After this release he had finally come into a style of his own and knew exactly what he wanted to produce and look forward to. He released a few more original EPs and did some remixes for artist like Joel Armstrong, Larry powers, Evren Ulusoy and Solarity. His mix for Solarity was supported by Tiesto, Above and Beyond, Gareth Emery, Andy Moor etc. His recent mixes have received support from John Digweed, Robert Babicz, Andy Newland, Herman Cattaneo, Rafael Noronha, Oliver Klein, Cid Inc etc. 2009 was a special year as Vinayak^A got the honor and opportunity to do a track for "Kamal Hassan’s" Tamil Movie "ONAI POL ORRUVAN" alongside his daughter, Shruti Hassan. It gave him a further sense of confidence and helped him move forward. Lately Vinayak^A has been working on his new album and several remix projects. And in typical Vinayak^A fashion, he says “I have no idea what 2010 and the following years have in store for me. My experiments & journey continues… My music should say & "do it all....” ....

Music, work, friends and life in general is all about balance for Dutch DJ, producer and promoter Darko Esser. And more importantly finding and keeping that balance despite all the contradictions, rollercoasterrides and paradoxes life can put in front of you. It’s what binds us all like sleep, breathing and eating. No suprise that his debutalbum is dedicated to that neverending quest for balance, or as the Dutch call it: ‘Balans’. Most tracks on the album have opposing titles and the atmosphere changes from dark, moody and emotional to uplifting, cheerfull and happy. Sometimes even within the same track.

Finding balance in contradictions is also the main reason why his activities cover such a wide range and can be completely different in character. From programming the electronic music-events for the legendary Dutch venue Doornroosje to DJ-ing all over Europe back to making music in the solitude of his homestudio and selecting tracks for new releases on his Wolfskuil imprint. The difference between these activities is not entirely contradictory, because it’s all about the music at the end of the day.

As a DJ he has more then 15 years of experience in the bag and has played all over Europe in world famous clubs such as Berghain & Panoramabar, Rex, Tresor, 11, House Of God and off course his homebase Doornroosje. His sound is versatile and strongly depends on the setting and atmosphere of that particular moment. One could say that his sound is strongly settles on the crossing borders between house & techno, but don’t be surprised if he takes a sideway into broken beat, dubstep, electronics or the undiscribable.

With a discography of over 30 releases, including international clubhits like ‘Paradox’ (Underwater), ‘Catatonic’ (Ovum) and ‘The Return’ on his own Wolfskuil imprint, Darko has established a solid reputation in the producer department ever since his first records came out in 2003. His releases receive massive support from international keyplayers as diverse as Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Sasha, John Digweed, Steve Bug, Francois K, Luke Slater and Len Faki. Following this succes he was asked to remix tracks from Anthony Pappa, Sharam Jey, Davide Squillace and King Roc amongst others.

In 2003 he started the label Wolfskuil Records together with his good friend LL. Nowadays he runs the label by himself and activity has been increasing over the years thanks to overwhelming support from the industry and off course an increasing input of strong demos. The evergrowing Wolfskuil family ranges from young producers who release their first record to established musician like Joris Voorn, DJ Yellow, Benny Rodrigues and Paul Brtschitsch. He is very ambitious with the label, so watch out for more artistalbums in the following years.

As a promoter he is involved in more then a 100 events each year ranging from small clubshows as programdirector for electronic music in Doornroosje and Merleyn, to programming festivals up to 15.000 capacity, like Free Your Mind in Arnhem. Music- and genrewise there are no limitions, since quality manifests itself in many different shapes and sounds.

Dockoff was born in 1981 in Pleven, Bulgaria. While he was growing up, he understood that the music is very important to him, and he began to take piano lessons when he is 7 years old. He pass through a lot of music styles until 1997... when his cousin introduce him to the House music by giving him some tapes from LOVE PARADE GERMANY. Several years later, the House music became part of him. The first steps of his production career is in 2004. In 2008 came out his first release: Darkcruise EP. Soon after that, in April 2009 came out Illusions EP, released by Kansak Recordings.
