Hyper capitalism, state surveilance, shifting values, mental health disruptions and loss of trust leads us to a new synthetic ignorance in our society. John Parlsey composed his debut release on @lustpoderosa using his very own interpretation of a post minimal wave synth aesthetic. It came out as magical dark and gloomy four tracker which is packed with immersive rhytms, weird staccato voices, claustrophobic acid lines paired with hopeful melodies. This project emerges as the very frst Digital/Vinyl on Demand hybrid release by Lustpoderosa. 100 Limited black Vinyl a 140g.

For this 205th Premiere of 2022, we have a track by the veteran German Electro DJ, producer & composer Martin Matiske, aka "Blackploid", titled ‘Neurotransmitter’ from his forthcoming EP "Planetary Science" on the independent British record label, founded in Sheffield in 2012, specialising in electronic music : Central Processing Unit (CPU Records).

The EP will be available on September 16, 2022 in Limited Edition 12" Vinyl EP + Digital.

The Blackploid resurgence of recent years continues to gather steam. After laying dormant for some time, Martin Matiske’s project roared back into life in 2021 with a pair of EPs for Central Processing Unit. It doesn’t look like he’ll be taking his foot off the gas any time soon - not only does the new Blackploid collection Planetary Science complete Matiske’s hat-trick for the Sheffield label, but it also serves as a prelude to the full-length album which Blackploid will deliver on CPU in 2023.

If that LP is as good as the tracks we get here, then it’s safe to say that we’re on to a winner. This EP contains a quartet of top-tier machine-funk productions, the kind of crisp post-Drexciya joints we’ve come to know and love Blackploid for. Each track on Planetary Science makes good on the record’s title by delivering club tackle flecked with FX which sound distinctly like spaceships blasting off into the cosmos.

There is also progression across Planetary Science. While it still aims for the dancefloor, Planetary Science is a somewhat more textured listen than either Strange Stars or Cosmic Traveler, Blackploid’s previous CPU drops. Most notable is the increased use of synth pads, with Matiske draping chord progressions over all of these tracks in order to give his music a newfound depth.

Blackploid’s subtle evolution is clear from the opening track. ‘Dimension Unknown’ may begin with a precision-engineered groove reminiscent of an early Legowelt joint, but things soon soften with the introduction of some rich keyboard chords. A few well-chosen bleeps and bloops flit in and out of the mix, but whereas some would use these to scuff up the track further here they are warm and playful.

Planetary Science closes out with ‘Neurotransmitter’. On this cut, Blackploid returns somewhat to where we started off, finding a midpoint between ‘Dimension Unknown’s more spacious feel and the livewire flavour of ‘Magnetron’ and ‘Wire’. Tension remains, particularly when Matiske serves up one of the EP’s snakiest basslines, but there’s also a deftness to the synth pads here which makes ‘Neurotransmitter’ a little softer around the edges.

Blackploid limbers up for a forthcoming full-length on Central Processing Unit with Planetary Science, an EP of stargazing electro joints that quietly expand the project’s sonic world.

Known to Mystictrax listeners by a track Celestial Gloom from the CODE compilation, multi genre experimentalist @slavadyadyunmusic aka Revshark created another masterpiece full of unique sound album.

The great inspiration for the 'Integrity' album by Revshark was the native city of Kremenchuk and its people. The track 'Fortress' has a direct reference to the history of the creation of the city, and the sound of the album reflects both the relentless movement and the meditative calm of the industrial riverside town. Therefore, in some sense, this album can be considered biographical.

Cititrax is very pleased to announce Cherskogo Drive, a full length LP of 6 tracks from one of Moscow’s leading underground electronic artists, Pavel Milyakov aka Buttechno. He may not need any introduction to some but to those not in the know, he’s a unique, relatively new yet prolific musical artist who uses a vast range of instrumentation to create his sound. His music captures the listener in the most thoughtful, precise way.

Milyakov makes spacious, dystopian, and wonky reflections on techno that mirror the expansive barrenness and desolation of his high rise-dominated environs. Despite keeping a relatively low profile, Buttechno still manages to attract significant positive attention, whether providing “spastic electronics and fireball ballistics” in one of the local Boiler Room event or creating soundtracks for European fashion shows. He has close ties to the area’s design and fashion scenes, and his own artwork fleshes out a singular aesthetic.

The 6 tracks on this LP range from driving electro to 90s techno to slower paced, dirty, perfectly pitched 808 sounds. The LP is pressed on 160 gram black vinyl with the first 200 copies presented on grey vinyl, all housed in a heavy printed high gloss sleeve, lined in black with black paper inner sleeves.
