Andreas, who ventured into DJing back in 1995, started his musical journey crafting mix tapes and spinning drum and bass in Philadelphia's underground rave scene. Currently based in San Francisco, Andreas combines his love for music with his studies in computer science. Operating under the alias 👾 Tygre (@djtygre), he immersed himself in the darker realms of electro, techno, and drum and bass from 1997 to 2000. After a prolonged hiatus, Tygre, inspired by the hypnotic sounds of electro, techno, and drum and bass, is back to spread his passion for music, the art of mixing, and the creation of mesmerizing sonic journeys. Cultivated Electronics Ltd's "For The Floor" series features split EPs available on vinyl (only) with Electro tracks aimed strictly at the dance floor, bringing together CE regulars alongside new artists.  Previous instalments have presented tracks by DeFeKT, Rico Casazza, Tripeo, Cycloplex, Steve Allman and Alex Jann.  Volume 4 now delivers 2 new tracks apiece by Ben Pest and Maëlstrom.

Bristol's Ben Pest has established notoriety as an exponent of jacking live hardware-based techno and electro with numerous releases on labels including Asking For Trouble, I Love Acid, No Static / Automatic, Orson Records, Don't and more.  Here he delivers heavy bass, vocal distortions and tough beats on "Who Would Have Thought I'd Be" and the accompanying "26 Hybrid".

Maëlstrom has a history of aliases and side projects, illegal raves thrown in warehouses, fields and basements, but he came into his own under his Maëlstrom moniker, releasing music on the likes of RAAR (the label he co-founded with Louisahhh), Cultivated Electronics, Central Processing Unit, Mechatronica, Private Persons and Discos Atónicos.  Back on CE, he brings a metallic sound to his punchy and rugged tracks "ASCII TWINS" and "PERMANENCY".

She fingered the papers on her desk, leafing through archaic texts and historical works of old men she cared very little for. Since beginning her studies she had tried her best to shun the so-called 'experts' in favour of new radicals, of unheard voices and those who went against the grain. That was the way she'd been raised, to think and look outside of the box, something she felt increasingly thankful for as she grew older. After all, you should never believe everything you're told...

Parisian label Zone, masterminded by The Hacker and Alexandre Raynaud, have built a reputation for their tasteful electro-driven output, boasting a catalogue that includes Gesaffelstein Jensen interceptor, Maelstrom and many more. For their next instalment they turn their attentions to Budapest and DJ and producer CT Kidobó, who has previously released music for Earth Plates, Dalmata Daniel and, under his Das Model moniker, for Mille Feuilles. Across the four tracks on Impulse & Inhibition, CT Kidobo explores sounds for the day time, with future plans in place for a sequel of darker "sounds of the night" later this year.
