London-based sound mangler & audio-artist extraordinaire Rico Casazza drops his first EP for Insult To Injury, the Ransom Note Records sub-label run by Timothy Clerkin.

And here we have the title track for you to chew over, before the remainder of the release drops here, later in the month; and via 'Catharsis' we're treated to a slow, atmospheric and glitchy IDM cut that sounds like it was recorded in a run-down warehouse somewhere in an industrial wasteland, circa 1992.

Izorgor - Nosferatu [Schrödinger's Box - SBOX 013]

Izorgor’s sound reflects his burly bouncer name. Drums pound and hi-hats slash in the mean and murderous “HDF-N”, a soundtrack for car crashes and late late club sessions. “Nosferatu” comes from a similarly evil place, percussion is fed through a mincer before a fog of distortion descends to smother samples. If you’re after a respite, you’ll have to wait or feck off home. “HDF-S” wades in. Similar to his sibling in terms of rancorous rhythms, this beast drips with 303 sweat and venom with just a touch of salvation in those soaring notes. Boris Brenicki, of Ontal fame, ends with his own sepulchral take on “Nosferatu.”

Active since the early 2000s, for much of her career Annechoic has operated in the shadows, balancing her time between her work in film post-production and running the highly regarded label Audiofugitives with Schizolectric since 2012. She has also produced a secret arsenal of music that we have only gotten a glimpse at on her own label and more recently with a release for brokntoys. Alongside this her recent DJ sets have been highly regarded for her intelligent flow across electro, techno and ambient.Both as a producer and DJ, Annechoic wishes to explore the relationships between rhythm and melody primarily within electro but not confined to it. Her music ranges from soft ambient themes all the way through to darker synthetic sounds with an emphasis on the emotional
reaction from the listener.

Reaktiv is an athenian dj and producer with a keen interest in sound design for theatrical shows and film. Moving flexibly through techno, industrial, filthy electro, melty waves and cinematic soundscapes.
 
So far he appears in various compilations (OSM Tapes, Ferma, Dystatik, Shishi) with his music as well as a remix for Petros Spatharos’ release for Body Musick. He is currently working on his first album which is soon to be released.
