After a strong run of releases on Secret Fusion, Nothing Is Real, and Sprechen earlier this year, NYC-based producer Evan Michael now lands on HIFI/LOFI Records with his Modern Life EP — a forward-thinking five-track journey that drifts from dreamy house to cosmic indie dance, with subtle shades of melancholy woven throughout.

Having spent the past decade deeply immersed in New York’s nightlife, Evan has supported many of the city’s most vital independent clubs while absorbing their eclectic soundscapes. That experience has sharpened his ear for house and techno — a sensibility he now channels into productions that move seamlessly between retroism and futurism, all in his uniquely personal way.

The release is elevated by standout remixes from trailblazer Maruwa, a Robert Johnson club resident whose rising profile spans releases on Steel City Dance Discs and X‑Kalay, delivering a deeper, more minimalistic, and irresistibly groovy reinterpretation of the original. ZwaarteKracht are very proud to present the 3rd edition in the series, inviting some very unique and forward thinking artists.

The very prolific Zagreb-based producer Ivna Ji kicks off side “Z” mercilessly grooving a bassline down your spine like an itchy virus. Followed up close by Errorbeauty, who has been pushing boundaries through her own label Arkada Records (which she runs along with XOR12). Her track here displays some geniously organic machinerythms into an eerie dystopian escape.
On side “K”, Arsonist Recorder hosts this record with an invasion of microbug machinery in a heavily rocking track that continues to sonically outline the reactive views of this label, only to prepare the listener for UK-based producer and dj Kim Cosmik’s industrialised funk-anthem which concludes this release, masterfully drilling the beat into the floor with a rumbling subbass-message to society.

The Emergence series was the first fully-fledged project of Bella Ursa's head honcho Letherique. Aimed at experimenting between the boundaries of his many influences, no matter if its techno, disco, electro or ambient, it helped forge his identity through many trials and errors, ultimately leading to the creation of the Bella Ursa imprint.

As now is the time to finally move forward in peace, we thought it would be nice to release a mixtape compiling all these works, along with 2 of his most important and favorite early works : Rite d'Illumination, his first ever track released as Letherique and his first remix for the magnificent psychedelic jazz band Daidal. For good measure, we also included 2 extra unreleased tracks, which were part of his many Emergence experiments.

Phase 1 of the Bella Ursa's mothership is now complete.

MASA 002 is born from the connection between MASA and one of its most beloved artists, Roger Van Lunteren. RVL brings his magic back with a solo EP after boosting MASA 001 with his acidic rocket Red (Touchée).

This time, Roger takes us on a journey filled with warm, powerful acid-bathed sounds. This upward trip begins its expedition visiting colourful landscapes shaped by housy-breaks nuances to flow into sharply-edged grounds full of mental-progressive beats.

Surrounded by music from a very young age, Roger began sampling and experimenting with Midi in early 1991 moved by the feeling of embrace that Acid House provoked in him. RVL, whose productions encompass from Ambient to Experimental going through Acid, Techno or Electro among others, always allows himself to be carried away by his intuition in search of sensitive sounds or scenarios that carry him to a delightful place where to abide endlessly.
