Wartime EP called "Boomerfunk" from Kyiv's unique character Luschn who has a recognizable style, honed and tempered in the city's parties. You may know him from the previews releases on Noneside (two 12"s) and Album "Zhitniy Dub" on Mystictrax, under IV Mickey monicker. Four tracks of minimalist Kyiv-baked house, with hints of mysticism and post-apocalyptic notes, designed for so called "walking dead" and all those who are used to partying until the end, you know, deep night madness!

“When bad emotions prevail in me, I start writing beats, and I find an escape in it. For example, all these tracks were written from shelter at the beginning of the war, when Kyiv was under shelling for days. I'm getting used to the war, no matter how sad it is to say, and I'm adapting. I often listen to music from different eras, I am fueled by such eclecticism, and then I use various elements and solutions that I hear, which I then turn into a dance collage. Nowadays, you can find a lot on Youtube or, for example, something new on Bandcamp, and if I like something, I try to follow that channel, label or artist.” - says Mykhaylo.

Now the musician continues to write a lot of music as usual, to play at daytime events in Ukraine, despite the constant shelling by Russian missiles, the music does not end, on the contrary, it has acquired a new round of development.

“The music of the future will be completely AI-driven at every level, but after that there will be a point where everything will go back to its roots and generally go from electronic to primal and ethnic or something like that. I plan to write more interesting and different music primarily for myself and release it for you. I wish all listeners to believe in the Armed Forces and Ukraine! Donate to our military and volunteers! Also, try to stay optimistic in this crazy time and believe in our victory!” - says Mykhaylo.

Carl has been writing and recording music since 1986 but his first real record involvement was co writing and producing Moments of Inertia by Circle City on Warp in 1993. After a year or so working with Leeds indie band The Bridewells and culminating in an album with them recorded in Roxy Music's studio, he settled down into writing and producing dance music. In 1994 he and DJ Ralph Lawson set up 2020 Vision Records, producing deep house flavours of their own as Wolf and Flow and under his own solo guise of Random Factor, remixing artists from around the globe including Blaze, Josh Wink, Superman Lovers and Fatboy Slim. His solo work is heavily electro tinted, reflective of the Kraftwerk era but owing as much to the likes of Drexciya, Prince, Depeche Mode and Yello. During the mid 90s he teamed up with SCSI founder Daz Quayle and wrote under the name Scarletron and also as Black Labs with two releases on Thomas Heckmann's Trope Recordings around 1995. Working under the names of Random Factor (2020 Vision) Voice Stealer (Subvert) and more recently Silicon Scally (SCSI, Satamile) he has released music on labels including Warp, Fuel, Playhouse, Paper, Trope, Sony, Klang, Arista, Soma, Pagan and Minifunk. He is also a keen remixer in his own right, having reworked tracks by 2 Lone Swordsman, Luke Slater, Swayzak, Dave Tipper and Alexi Delano. 2002 saw the release of the critically acclaimed Mr. Machine album on SCSI recordings. In 2003 the combined EP's on Device Entertainment Recordings were released as the album Electrilogy+ under his real name, Carl A Finlow. Shortly after this release, he moved to Paris.

I produced this cover song without using any MIDI data, stems or samples from the original song. Really it is more of a cover than it is a remix. I intentionally made it sound very similar to the original because I absolutely adore the original song and I was interested in paying tribute to it. This was produced using only the iPad app 'Korg Gadget'.

Straight off the back of his "Manilla Co" release last week Rowland is back with another spacey single named "Expanse". Expanse is a rolling dance track with ethereal pads driven by a powerful arpeggiator designed to take the listener on a journey through space. The subtle acid bass line broken up by the vocal stabs adds a club ready flare to the beautiful, ambient soundscape. 
Rowland is a producer and DJ from Leeds. He is part of party starter brand "Limit UK" who are responsible for putting on James Zabiela, Bambounou, Harrison BDP, Traumer, Moscoman and many many more across Leeds over the past few years. This is Rowland’s third release of 2019. Following his recent EP release with Limit owner Mezla on Dance Discover and the previously mentioned Manilla Co release last week.
