“Lemmy Caution et ses Variantes” is a cinematic sonic journey inspired by the mythic presence of Lemmy Caution — the iconic detective portrayed in Jean-Luc Godard’s cult films Alphaville and Allemagne 90 Neuf Zéro. This three-track project blends experimental electronic textures with fragments of dialogue lifted directly from the films, recontextualizing them into hypnotic and dystopian soundscapes.

Through layered samples, analog atmospheres, and fractured rhythms, the album explores memory, surveillance, and identity, with each variation offering a new perspective on Lemmy's enigmatic voice and character.

Alphaville Alpha60 MIX – A reinterpretation focused on rhythm and contrast, where the presence of Alpha 60 becomes more haunting and mechanical.

Alphaville Original Mix – A raw introduction to the noir ambiance of Alphaville, with a minimal pulse and stark vocal cuts from Alpha 60.

Allemagne Neuf Zero – A cold, slow-burning piece invoking the post-Berlin Wall melancholy and philosophical tone of Godard's late vision of Lemmy.

Georgian heavyweight producer loves examining melodies, sentiments, and has kept exploring the lo-fi influenced techno sound he got familiarized with; and the evolution is obvious on this release. With Volte, he presents a vast palette of melodic synths and textures all connected through the rhythmic grooves of baselines and fashionable hats that can be operated both as home listening as well as dance floor material.

Performed and recorded live for the Kiss FM Australia Retro Electro Show 20 September 2017. Comments, questions, reposts, shares and likes are more than welcome. I live to push the sound, and the more people out there listening, grooving and loving the better!

Sam D-GEN returned from his New Zealand journeys to keep me company in the studio as I played lots of Aussie releases, mostly on the chill tip as that's what has been new in the country as of late. I also played a pre-recorded interview with the dark lord of the synth, Perturbator, playing in November 2017 Australia wide. He's super chill and we had fun recording this so I hope you enjoy the 10 minutes of talk-time in the middle there. 

Also, the third channel on the mixer which I was using to play Vantablack came through really fuzzy for some reason, I really apologise for the butchering of the playback, but every person and their pets have probably already heard it by now. However, the rest came through absolutely fine, so if you can't bear to hear Vantablack sound like that, just skip ahead a few minutes!

Following on from the success of the first Transhumanism compilation (inspired when the four artists met for the first time at Dave Clarke's first Whip It event in Amsterdam) the Dutch boys are back with a vengeance. Boosted by the support of the likes of UMEK, Dave Clarke and Helena Hauff these four artists have dialled everything up a notch with four new tracks.

w1b0 is on fine form with Zero Meridian, a ferocious dancefloor destroyer with his trademark sounds. RXmode delivers his recognisable brand of heavy weight darkness in spades. Slaves of Sinus once again shows his commitment to combining dancefloor Electro beats with a few twists and surprises in the sound palette and structure; his track Game Set Match breaks down completely then launches straight back with purpose. Finally, TFHats follows up his recent vocal stunner 'Binary Stars' (as supported by Maceo Plex and Dave Clarke) with 'Kompromat' - blending cold atmospheres and melody with punchy beats and his unique vocal style.

RXmode, real name Ronald Hustinx, born and living in the south of the Netherlands.

His passion for electro and techno started in the early 90's after hearing work from Laurent Garnier. From that moment artists like Garnier, Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Oscar Mulero and many more became very important in the way Ronald developed his love for the music. With shows and podcasts like Bass Agenda, Electronic Explorations and White Noise, RXmode has been influenced a lot by modern electro producers. For example Simplicity is Beauty, Clatterbox, Ital Tek and Dez Williams inspired him to create his own music, a mix of electro and techno with a dark atmospheric sound.

FUSE09 - Matti Turunen (Morphology)

The 9th edition of our FUSE series comes courtesy of Matti Turunen, one half of Finnish Electro legends; Morphology. Separated from his partner in crime Michael Diekmann through lockdown, Matti took himself away from his collection of adored synthesisers and drum machines to produce this rare, vinyl only DJ set, recorded exclusively for our FUSE series. The mix consists of some absolute gems in Matti’s collection, with styles ranging from early Chicago and Detroit to sublime, futuristic electronics, some of which come from other respected, underground Finnish labels and artists. 

Devoted to Electro, Morphology have been at large for more than a decade and have made their presence known with releases on labels widely considered by those in the scene as having royal stature, such as Central Processing Unit, Cultivated Electronics, Solar One Music, FireScope, Semantica and more. Being fans of theirs for many years it was an honour for us to bring them to London to play an unforgettable live set at our 16 hour extended rave at FOLD in August 2019. This party has gone down in our history as being one of our most memorable to date and the pair slotted into the lineup perfectly, alongside Regis, Kamikaze Space Programme, DJ Skull, DJ T-1000 aka Alan Oldham, Versalife, as well as front-line Natural Selection and FOLD residents; Kodah, Annie Hall, Voicedrone, Gareth Wild, Cressida and more.

The floodlights remain unshakeably fixed on the Finnish pair’s brilliance moving into this new decade. Their next EP “Qualia” comes courtesy of Exalt Records and will be released in July 2020.
