Luke's Anger (real name Luke Sanger) delivers his first outing on Love Love, Ceiling Walker. Sanger is a relentlessly interesting hero of the underground, probably best known as a techno and electro producer and an active player in the live experimental techno scene across Europe, notably including multiple appearances at Berghain/PanoramaBar. Based out of Norwich, UK, Luke has put out a plethora of banging records for two decades in styles from across the rave spectrum on some of our favourite record labels like Tigerbeat6, Don’t and Sneaker Social Club, as well as an increasing amount of more ambient-leaning releases under his real name in recent years. This EP fits firmly into the 'banging' camp - more than a nod to classic stateside sci-fi electro stylings as well as UK dance music's bleep techno bass foundations, this is popping, caustic, mechanical phunk expertly engineered to make you shake and wiggle.

Particle Swarm kicks the EP off with strung-out synth chirps and plenty of latex squelch before moving onto the bounciest number, Threshold Rider, with buoyant bassline droplets poking through a solid 808 framework. On the flipside, title track Ceiling Walker utilises rushing crescendos and fluttering analogue rhythms to keep the dancefloor in rapture while closer, Silicon Boogie, achieves maximum levels of funk by aptly juxtaposing digi vocal snippets against square wave bass.

If you’re trapped in a game whose outcome is a lose-lose situation, when even winning is losing, yet losing is losing too, the question is not so much on how to win this particular game anymore but how to lose this game spectacularly. In this light, to lose is not an end but the beginning of a radical break, an opening toward the dissolution of a world that claims to be the only one.

The ultrablack non-ference is not about bringing together, but not to carry—a radical refusal, an unraveling of identity, and time, pulling away from atomized forms of resignation, resentment, revenge or aversion, we give collectively birth to a zany bastard child, an uchro(m/n)iatic  seduction. It is a space of strange strangers, where improvisation emerges from what has been denied, where winning is losing, and losing is the only escape.

From April 2–12 2025 “ultrablack non-ference of mille plateaux II” proliferates and branches out from Forum Stadtpark (and other places) into the city of Graz. Again it launches its dark, unpredictable, and concatenating deprogramming program, with several days of concerts, lectures, video/film screenings, performances, exhibitions, site-specific installations, workshops, discussions, DJ sets, and outages implying ad hoc improvisations and fast acting.

A gravitational center is gone. What remains is a scattered, entangled field, held together only by absence and negation. We exist in a world without outside, where history is rubble, the future unattainable, and the present an endless loop of crisis and simulation. Meaning is overproduced, language implodes, and thought collapses into fragmented trends. Capitalism has reached its limit—it no longer expands but self-destructs. Nano-fascism infiltrates bodies. The system doesn’t just oppress; it programs and internalizes, ‘getting’ people to do things, want things, participate, to enjoy. But rather than surrendering to nihilism, we turn it into a weapon—a refusal of both progress and despair, a nihilism against nihilism – autocannibalization.

If the only movement left is against itself, then the only real act is subtraction—to undo, to retreat, to dissolve. This is ultrablack refusal, an insurgent, encrypted break from the world. A leap into the unknown.

American artist and producer based in New York City. He is the founder of Things To Come Records.
Prior to releasing music as The Horrorist, he had his "fifteen minutes of fame" when he won a contest and appeared on the Depeche Mode documentary 101.

The Horrorist, Oliver Chesler is one of the best known and loved electronic musicians. Recording since 1989 he and has released over 80 12" singles and 3 full length albums. In 2001 he had a Number 1 hit on the German Dance Charts (DDC) with the song "One Night in NYC" and in 2004 his album "Manic Panic" went to Number 1 on the German Alternative Chart (DAC). The scope of his music catalog is huge and he has recorded for every major label (Universal, Sony, Warner, Koch, etc...) and all the best known techno labels (Tresor, Industrial Strength, Neue Heimat, etc..). The Horrorist has worked with the biggest names in techno including Chris Liebing, Ben Sims, Frank Kvitta, DJ Rush, The Hacker, Marc Acardipane, John Selway, Frankie Bones, Ricardo Villalobos, Haujobb, Radical G and more have all..
