STELLAR MODE 3 (EP Medley)

MILLI has always been captured and inspired by music, often considering it as the only form of personal expression.
Over the years she approaches various genres, passing from the 4/4 hip-hop music of the late 90s of the American east coast to electronic and rock, up to the most lyrical, introspective, romantic, and desolate strings of the English dark wave.
The fascination she has for brutalist, industrial, decadent and abandoned contexts lead her to approach the synthetic, dark, harsh, penetrating, raw, and strident sounds of techno music, capturing her soul.
The event that sparked off was when she first saw The Prodigy's music video No Good (Start The Dance), in 1997.
The exaltation and the sense of freedom that those people transmitted to her in the video, the lightness, the light-heartedness, the sense of aggregation that she managed to grasp, bewitch her to the point of deciding to want to be part of that world for the whole life.

Having moved to Rome from a small town in the province of Naples, she has the opportunity to enter this scenario, participating in some of the capital's underground events, such as the techno event of the organization Amigdala at the Ex Dogana, or the after-parties of the Neo and the After 300 at the former general warehouses.

Her sets are to be interpreted as emotional introspective journeys, with the aim of replacing words with music, accompanying the listener on own inner journey, and often this results in Dj sets that evolve rhythmically, combining dark and hypnotic sounds with raw and industrial sonorities.

" I’ve known the work of Victoria Lukas with the first release of Zerkalo in 2009 on Clone Aqualung Series. No one knew the components of the group, but it clearly looked like a production of Gerald Donald aka Dopplereffekt, Arpanet, etc. What was different was that ethereal voice with her stunning tone moving into those eerie melodies that later we knew was Victoria Lukas. On the same year, there was a new Zerkalo release on Clone Aqualung Series and after some months another great one on Frustrated Funk. Since there I followed her on every releases. On 2103 she released her solo project, Inkamera, on Last Know Trajectory and then various incredible eps with Jauzas The Shining on same label and others. Then she released other works as Victoria Lukas and also Inkamera. All of them were amazing, a perfect mixture of electro and new wave indie. She was the only artist that tried to push Electro into the realm of normal songwriting maintaining all the experimentation of the most forwarding Electro. In her recent works, sadly never released, as Vita, she had perfected her style going beyond the genre and making beautiful songs like “I wish” or “The ending”. 
I’ve sent her various messages on social and privately to communicate my appreciation of her music and we had a nice social friendly relationship. Then sadly she started a battle against cancer. All the Electro community support her and it looks like the battle was won. That’s why I wrote to her to ask if she wanted to deliver a live set or a mixed set of her tracks for my radio show Futureshock on U-FM Radio, but she told me that she started another battle with cancer, more serious, so we didn’t make it as she wanted to focus herself on musical production. And infact she produced a lot of amazing music as Victoria Lukas on her Bandcamp page and as Vita on Frustrated Funk. The Vita album is just outstanding and reveals her maturity on musical composition with beautiful melodies and dense rhythm production. The soundtrack of her last months. So intense that it hurts now. With this mix I tried to show a part of the the incredible skills of Vika as composer since her first works until the last ones, like the two amazing covers of two songs from Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails. I hope that someone will release her unreleased works as Vita now present only on her YouTube page and that most people possible realize that we have lost a great artist and a deep, beautiful human being. I still cannot believe it is true.
