Working with Ellie Goulding was such a pleasure. She has one of those voices that is so clearly recognizable and unique. I finished this track while I was on tour with Krewella last year so at the time I really wanted to make a song that would be fun to play live. Introducing Local DJ, a Paris-based electronic music producer and DJ known for his environmentally conscious approach to music and life. With a passion for blending the fun of DJ culture with political statements, his choice of the name "Local DJ" reflects both his commitment to promoting sustainability and his desire to work within his local community. Avoiding air travel and focusing on collaborations close to home, Local DJ has carved out a distinct niche in the burgeoning Parisian minimal scene.

A prolific producer, he runs his own label, re:earth, which has become a platform for showcasing his own work as well as that of emerging artists like Fjeldheim. His sound is characterized by a signature funkiness and a love for using vocoder effects, elements that stand out in his latest EP, "Cosmic Scene," released on the Parisian label ANTAM. He has also previously collaborated with Phil Evan's Freizeit Records, further establishing his presence in the European underground music scene.

In this interview, Local DJ shares insights into his creative process, his passion for music production, and the challenges of balancing an artistic vision with a strong ecological message. The „Sans rouge EP“ is a return to Greymatter’s sampling roots reminiscent of his early works on WOLF Music. A record that sits half way between house and hip hop, in terms of style and tempo. „Sans Rouge“ epitomises that mood: starting out with a hip hop groove that drops into a beat-down house chugger. „Royale“ drops things down to an even slower motion with another tough beat down groove, chopped and driven key samples and a catchy vocal chop. The B-side start with a nice goodie: this is the first time that the full length/12” mix of „Move Slow“ has a proper release (the short version appears on the „7 years who cares?“ 2x7“ on WOLF Music). Greymatter’s most popular track of recent years - more heavy soul chops this time pitched more towards peak time. „Billy O“ finishes things off with a slamming, choppy club jam laiden with strings and vocals. Another mighty fine Quintessentials release that shows all the talent of Greymatter!

Prime Numbers are back with E11, the latest in our highly lauded signature E.P series.

First up is a heavyweight collaboration between Mr Scruff & Kaidi Tatham, who provide a smouldering jazz-house production with Kaidi leading the way on 
keys and flute accompanying a warm & chunky bottom-heavy groove. 

M.C.D.E drops a killer raw cut witha heavily smashed jackin’ disco workout comparable to a fine Cajual dub or early Striclty Rhyhtm release. The track oozes 
soul and is unpretentiously aimed at the dancefloor. Once again Danilo Plessow proves less is more. 

Andres completes the line up with a cheeky blend of some classic ingredients. Sounding like a track from his early releases, “Jack City” has all the essential 
hallmarks of the Andres sound with an excellently simple but purely effective fusion of house and hiphop ethics.
