Ave Maria

Tracy Randolph is a graduate of oboe performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Tracy studied piano from the age of 6, took up the oboe at age 13, and the English horn while at conservatory. A strong proponent of social opera and political activism, Tracy is the Artistic Director of South Berkeley Chamber Ensemble, an intentionally diverse group of professional classical musicians for whom Tracy has composed instrumental and vocal chamber works, including "mini-operas" highlighting relevant social themes such as homelessness, social bias, and inclusiveness. Tracy is also a librettist, writing storylines and lyrics for other composers. Tracy's goals with South Berkeley Chamber Ensemble are to foster an emotionally safe and supportive space for trained musicians to debut their compositions, perform the vocal and instrumental pieces of their dreams, and, inspired by the work of journalist David Brooks, to weave a culturally inclusive community with other politically-minded chamber musicians and the broader community. South Berkeley Chamber Ensemble’s venue is located at LIFE Adventist Church of Berkeley, 2236 Parker Street/Ellsworth.
