In 2008 Ludvig Nordholm decided to gather up some friends to play the songs he wrote. At that time Tradewind was just Ludvig's personal projekt. The members were Ludvig, Billie, David and Linn.

It was not until the summer in 2010 that the band decided to become more than just Ludvig's personal projekt. Mattias and Tilda joined, and the band was complete.

At first Tradewind only played Ludvig's songs, but after a while both Linn, David and Billie began to write songs that the band played.

Tradewind's first live show was in spring 2011, at the music competition Musik Direkt. There Tradewind advanced to the semi-final.
After that it was a local festival that Tradewind played at.

It didn't take long before Tradewind got quite a few fans, and because of that Tradewind got to play at Rockbron. Where over 20 bands competed, but only 6 bands that got the most votes actually got to play.
