TRAFFICO is a rock band. (like any other)

Or a post-rock band, or post-hardcore or indie band, or whatever. Similar to The Beatles or Metallica, they're a musical group consisting of four dudes who play rock 'n roll's time-tested tools, i.e. the electric guitar, the electric bass guitar, the acoustic drum kit and the electric guitar a second time. Oh, and the microphone, but that's hardly an instrument is it now.

TRAFFICO, initially called We Came As Dirt, started rehearsing/boozing in late 2005 as a three-piece, with Joris Adriaens on guitars, Dave Haesevoets on bass and Wim Gijbels on drums. 

All of them had shared bands in the past, such as TroubleLovesUs and Watchman, and all of them shared a love for nineties emo music (it was a soft-witted term then, but to what it means today I'm at a loss entirely).

From the onset, the band wanted to sound like The Promise Ring and nothing but, plain and simple. Both Dave and Wim had ill-advised pretensions of vocal tonality and tried the Hot Water Music dual vocal thing for a bit. Let's just say that some people can get away with singing off key, and that Dave and Wim are amongst 'the others'. 

The three were stuck in their proverbial rut until Dave dug up an old friend from college and invited him to drop by at the band's practice one night to have a listen, a beer and, hopefully, a voice that could actually sing to their music. Serge Servadio had it all and then some; it was April of 2006 and TRAFFICO got itself a singer and a second guitarist. Now they needed some songs.

Influences ranging from pop to hardcore, TRAFFICO uses layered melodies, interweaving guitarmonies (clever!), energetic hooks, turns and twists to cook up a brand of rock music that is frantic yet cheerful and that turned out somewhat heavier than the band had expected or even intended. They still like to hint at The Promise Ring in their songs, but have of yet never been credited for this by the kids. They have been compared to noble runner-ups like Minus The Bear, Fugazi and Pinback so they mustn't whine.

Four years down the line, TRAFFICO has gained itself a decent live reputation and shared stages with Paramount Styles, Herman Dune, Mintzkov, The War On Drugs and The Hickey Underworld, to name a few bands. In 2007 they finished third in the Limbomania rock contest and used the prize money to record five songs with producer John Morand (Sparklehorse, Avail, Lamb of God,...) a year later. These five songs will be released together with a selection of new songs. Release is planned somewhere in 2010.

Somewhere halfway trough 2011 , a hocus pocus pats and Ninja cloud appeared and Dave turned into Sven. (ex Bronze , Playmobile Assassins und guter Freund der Familie) 
He learned the album in one two three and played our last two shows with us before beginning on a very brand new set.

We are sure he will do good.
