You know, I can't explain why this works so well to me. I guess I'm kinda nostalgic for Hartshorne, But I also love O'Donnell's & Campbell's music. They both sorta blend together well sometimes, like here.

Commissioned by Nolan Sheridan, who wanted a Series 6 styled theme for Duck. I don't do a lot of S6-7 stuff but they are rather interesting to work with sometimes, definitely a more classical approach during this era of the show's music. 


Around this time, a lot of the signature themes became a lot more 'smooth' and let the strings and woodwinds provide the rhythm compare to let's say Series 1-4 which still liked to use cabasas to emulate pistons or kick drums to add a punch. While not as appreciated as the shows earlier music, this style of music fits the Gullane era tone perfectly.

I always liked this theme for some reason. It felt very Thomas, and is easy to translate into the Mike and Junior style. I added some bass and replaced the guitar with harp while adding other backing instruments to make it sound a whole lot better.

Thomas' Travelling Theme | ITSO Series 4

The infamous but 'comical' variant of the iconic Skarloey Railway Theme, usually used when Sir Handel or Peter Sam are on screen. The usage of the dissonant clarinet notes adds a very cheeky element to this theme and to me it's very nostalgic. Growing up on the 'Your Favorite Story Collection' VHS, I remember this clear as day.
