An imaginarium is a place devoted to the imagination. These centers can be identified in various places of our everyday life and is a matter of eclectic selection to identify the imaginaria that is suitable to our imagination boundaries. The more we search the more we can find a place beyond our expectations, like the purple mountains of Kuala Loubour, the ancient temple of Notre Dame or the hanging gardens of Babylon. Yabiru’s calling us from the deepest end of his imaginaria center to a journey beyond expectations. This is his first offering for Shango Records. Welcome to the seventh episode of Dyplytt!

The seventh episode is inspired by the marvelous creatures, that quite possibly inspired us humans to start creating those magical melodies we have in music for ourself. I am of course talking about birds, that probably is my favorite animal, flying so freely above us in the sky and creating those wonderful lullabies with their entire body, how can one not fall in love with them if you are a deep listener like me. The title of the mix was kinda decided before I even knew it, as it is in respect for my closest neighbor, namely Huggo the woodpecker. Every day during winter time he came to greet me and my girlfriend in the morning.

The mix itself was not easy to make, to be fair. My biggest rule in making it, was that every song in the mix needed to have some kind of bird in it, and it actually took me a year to complete this. It is a travel through sudden changes in genres, and also some transitions with purely songs from the birds. Also the intro is by the amazing David G. Haskell from his wonderful story about birds in the Emergence Magazine. I will put some links down below to this great soundtelling of him.

The artwork is made by @allisgroove, my wonderful girlfriend. And yes, the woodpecker in the artwork is Huggo himself. Look how beautiful he is!

Remember to sit back and tune your ears for a nice deep listening-experience. Let us save ourself and the earth with some proper listening.

This mix was recorded on 1st July which is exactly the same date I arrive in Canada 15 years ago, funny fact because the selection I made was without relation to the date I had recorded this set, the selection I build was inspired by my years trough music journey, that's why I decided to add 2 tracks from Mexican collective Nortec, who use "banda" music samples in his electronic music, so I decided to use 2 tracks mixed with some of my tracks collective, in this way I'm traveling from my 20's to my 40's in this music journey, playing tracks that inspired and that bring me souvenirs.
