Through the “Death Is In This Land“ videoclip we would like to highlight that the current situation in Iraq and Syria is not only happening on TV screens and in newspapers. To the people there, this is their daily, brutal reality. Through our music, we try, as far as possible, to enter into this reality - to really hear and see what is happening in these far away lands. We sing these lyrics to, at least in some small way, be with these people in the Middle East in thought and compassion.

The beginning of 2012. Michael & Lukas von Rotz get plenty of miles under their belts to rack their minds for music with Alfred Perner. Fine-tuning their sound until deep into the morning hours until finally the first songs are ready. Happy with the results, some good stuff produced, all the effort seems to have been worth it. Dominik Omlin enters the scene and now Trainwood can really get moving. Their shared passion for music brings them closer together and initial concerts take place in Switzerland and Germany.

In 2013 the band is severely challenged by illness, a sudden bereavement of a close relative and inner turmoil. The search for a fifth band member to compliment and complete their sound is not easy. In this state of apparent weakness, Trainwood paradoxically finds the strength which becomes their lifestyle: 'Trust and never give up!'

Autumn 2014. Lorenz Imfeld joins the band and soon thereafter the recording studio and film camera beckon. The resulting videoclip: “Death is in this land“ – based on the current situation in Iraq and Syria. With over 2500 clicks on YouTube by now, Trainwood is very proud to have got through to, and hopefully also affected, that many people.

The beginning of 2015, Alfred Perner announces his resignation! Thank you Alfred for your support and your raised energy. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are now. Luckily, Adrian Gander replaced Alfred on the bass guitar shortly afterwards. With the goal of a second studio record, the Song 'Remember', Trainwood was back in the band room.

Trainwood are grateful to be able to move on together despite the difficulties and challenges – whether close to home or in distant lands. Music is not just about putting rhythm and sound together – it is a safe haven, an expression of the greatest joy and hope and a language everybody understands. And that makes everything worthwhile…
