What ever happened to Plaza De Funk ?

Italian by birth Plaza De Funk moved to London in 2005 releasing award-winning records and receiving huge support from the likes of Fatboy Slim, Elite Force, Plump DJs, Rico Tubbs & Black Noise. In 2008 he walked away from Breakspoll with the award of Best Breakthrough Producer but where is he now ? His last post on Facebook post was in 2014.

Cut La Roc better known as Lee Potter is a UK DJ/Producer considered the pioneer of the genre Big Beat a fusion of House, Rock, Hip Hop and Breakbeat. He started producing music in the early 80's and released a mix CD in 1999 for the Ministry Of Sound which lead him to DJing in every corner of the globe.

LBJ (Lazy Bones Jones) aka DJ Jonas Verwijnen Started his musical career playing in several Helsinki bands and began his LBJ electronic music project back in 1998. LBJ's style was a unique mix of live instruments, Finnish vocals, powerful beats huge, bass and dub breaks, and awesome atmospherics, all combing into a new sound that was refreshingly different from the normal London breaks sound at that time.

LBJ had also played with DJ's including Rennie Pilgrem, Krafty Kuts, Vini (RIP), Stanton Warriors, Jay Cunning, Soto, Chris Carter, Databass, Atomic Hooligan, Freq Nasty, Kraymon, Evil 9, Friendly, and Iain Taylor.

This DJ mix is more of a Tech Funk influenced mix with some great breaks layed on top.

It felt good to be back after missing a few streams in October due to "real life" DJ gig obligations. As is usual during the fall, my stream coincides with some of the biggest (American) college football matches, so it wasn't a huge turnout in  the chat this week. Most of the regular homies still checked in and hung out for a bit during the set. This week I stuck to my usual playbook. Started off on a jazzy liquid tip, into some more running liquid into some deeper tech-influenced cuts. 2nd hour was techy stuff, rollers, fun vocal rollers, back into some deeper stuff, ending on an atmospheric note. Trans4mers have been playing out across the UK since 2006. We have held resident slots for Planet Breaks, Heal Festival & Fantazia. We have featured on the world famous Street Sounds Radio "5 Minutes of fire mix" and hold a monthly 2 hour slot on BreakFM. We are proud to have supported some great names over the years including Melle Mel & The Furious Five, Kurtis Blow, Jaguar Skills, Dj Yoda to name but a few. 

Trans4mers came 2nd place runners up in the world wide let's mix dj contest held by IDJ magazine. We have also been Nominated in the Best Dj category at the 2023 Shropshire Music Awards. 

We embrace Serato & Phase technology giving us the ability to play lots of classics in our set but we love to mash them up live - Pushing creative boundaries and bringing experimental mash ups to the dance floor. You never hear the same old thing as the last dj's played when we hit the stage. 

Super slick scratching and mixing has earned us props across the scene. We love dropping Old Skool Hip Hop, Nu Breaks, Jungle, 140 Breaks, Retro Electro, Drum&Bass and anything else we fancy... a bit of Frank Sinatra or Jefferson Airplane.. no problem! All sprayed with film samples, live loop mash ups and wacky sounds.
