Dreamy aesthetics intertwine with dancefloor athletics in Several Definitions’ You Are Not Alone EP. The title track emerges via a slow paced wandering bassline, making for a gradually immersive intro. Padded with ethereal synths and aerial whizzes, Alone’s dreaminess increases tenfold showcasing the artist’s crafty melodic side. Hatzler jumps in on the remix, kicking off with a bumping bassline from the get-go. Injecting bass and grit is one of his known production traits, and he manages to give Alone a straightforward, still dreamy yet solid groove appeal.

Daraus entstehen eigentlich die meisten Ideen – jeder Produzent kennt das.“ Entstanden sind die Werke im seinem Kopf, danach werden diese Ideen im Studio ausgearbeitet. „Auf meinem Studiorechner lagern wahrscheinlich über 100 angefangene Projekte." (...) „Im letzten Jahr beim Amsterdam Dance Event haben wir uns dann nochmal über Demos unterhalten. @matador_official fragte mich, ob ich ihm mal etwas für sein Label, @rukusofficial, schicken könnte. Manchester based Transcode has made some waves in the scene with his quality output on labels like Stil vor Talent. Filth on Acid is very happy to welcome this unique artist to the label, with three great originals on his Afterlife EP. Next to that, Whyt Noyz from Richie Hawtin’s Minus stable delivers an outstanding remix.

Afterlife starts off with a dreamy, subtle atmosphere, and some fantastic programmed synths and arpeggios. These elements are contrasted when the beat comes in; powerful and straightforward. The little melodic percussive elements work in perfect harmony with the melodies and keep on driving the track. The long breakdown in the middle of the track is mind blowing and a real crowd pleaser. A level work by Transcode.

Whyt Noyz manages to squeeze the synth lines of the original into a remarkably tight groove. Razor sharp hi-hats and a solid kick and bass drive the track on through airy and trippy effects. Slowly the arpeggio unfolds from the groove and leads us into the breakdown, where feeling of the original track perfectly complements the hypnotic vibe of Whyt Noyz grooves.

The third track of the EP, Vesta, illustrates Transcode’s ability to write very strong and beautiful melodies, with almost a relaxed feeling, without slowing the track as a whole down to much. There’s still plenty of energy here, and as Vesta develops, the energy level increases in a subtle way too.

Night Vision closes of the EP in style, introducing acidy elements and colossal sound design that stimulates the imagination of the listener. A heavy bass drum and a steady, punishing drum section combined with an eerie, dangerous atmosphere create a tasty atmosphere.

Transcode - Afterlife (Whyt Noyz Remix)

Part two of the four EPs dedicated to compiling some of the key artists based around Oliver Huntemann’s Hamburg label. Senso Sounds Level 02 maintaining the vibe Senso has become synonymous with - dark yet funky techno and tech house made to move bodies the world over. Veteran German DJ / producer André Winter steps up with 'Carte Blanche' - a perfect example of the honing of his craft over the years. The track is a lean, mean technoid excursion - firing along over a pulsating groove and throwing in detuned synths for maximum delirium.
Maksim Dark proceeds with 'Addendum' - the young Russian locking directly into a thick, juicy groove and staying focused throughout its journey. Shaded (aka Skyler Taugher) brings 'Sip Trip' to the table, and it sees the highly rated American deliver a trippy, acidic journey sure to melt minds. Alex Lühr rounds off the release with 'Atlante' - another stripped down slice of hard as nails techno that will delight DJs and dancers alike.
