During my time at Staffordshire University, I interviewed John Evington for a special documentary I made on the history of Signal Radio.  

Here's the audio of John, Signal's original breakfast show presenter and former Programme Controller—it's wonderful to hear his voice again. When Signal was bought by The Wireless Group he took on a senior programming role within the group, responsible for the output on 15 radio stations.
Sadly,  we lost John to illness in December 2021 aged 63.
The interview, recorded in 2012,  lasts just under six minutes.
I began by asking John about his memories of Signal's launch day on Monday, 5 September 1983.
