‘17 years of Mainframe Recordings’ album. The LP features an eye watering 18 tracks, all of which provide a snapshot into how the imprint has evolved over the course of its expansion. Including newcomer artists who Mainframe are currently investing in, as well as those who Mainframe have had play at their raucous club nights, there’s a host of tastes catered for. And with a name like Disaszt at the helm, the album, the label and its events have been in good hands. 
Tracks like Ripple’s ‘Stranger’, Wingz ‘Definite’, and Halflow’s ‘Progressive ID’ set the mood, showing the talent which Mainframe have at their fingertips when it comes to the fresher waters of drum & bass. Then Mainframe frequenters Dubape, Phentix, Alibi and Smooth pull you into their expert riddims throughout its track listing. Breakpitt & Tenchu offers something different throughout the soundscape of ‘Flashfreeze’ whilst Picota & Kumbh’s ‘Contact’ continues the moodier vibes. Tobax’s cutthroat style is prevalent throughout ‘Overback’ and the head honcho Disaszt returns with Dorian for ‘Boom’. Tuff Gee & Carter’s ‘Pimp Ride’, Manta’s ‘Childhood Memories’, Salaryman’s ‘Soul Reminder’, Akov’s ‘Afterlife’ and Counterstrike’s ‘Fearless’ finishes the exclusively new tracks but there’s more to come, with a VIP treatment of TR Tactics and The Clamps ‘Maggot’. 
As an album, it’s a formidable collection of tracks. But when looking at Mainframe’s vast history, they would need such an LP to pay homage to their legacy and ‘17 Years of Mainframe’ certainly delivers. So, sit back and begin your journey through the album, which is sure to bring back memories from the best club nights over recent times.

Fighting Fire: Relief for Australia Charity LP 

Fighting Fire: Relief for Australia is an initiative to raise money to support fire fighters and the communities affected by the current bushfire crisis in Australia. 

The project involved the coordination and release of a collaborative drum and bass LP hosted on Play it Forward (a website to connect artists to charities - hosting releases and directly providing donations to the charity). 

The money raised will be donated to Red Cross Australia. Red Cross provide psychological first aid, for those affected by events like severe bushfires, to fire fighters and the community. Their work is so important in assisting communities during and after traumatic events like wildfires. Donating to the Red Cross will directly assist fire fighters, their families and communities in healing and rebuilding following this devastating time. 

Mental health is a big topic in the music scene and the psychological impact of a traumatic event such as that in Australia would be undoubtedly devastating. After seeing a friend recently post about the mental health effects on a family member who was a volunteer fire fighter, and the potential benefit mental health support would have had, it made us think about how to use the funds raised and the Red Cross seemed like a positive way to help those impacted. 

Artists involved in the project include Bally & Boom, Creatures, Embr, Equilibr1um, False Relation, Freshney, Handsprime, HD, Incus, Jay Marwaha, Jimi Reborn, Koax, LoKo, MFX, missledz, Moose, N-Mon1c, Philth, Screamarts, Serpico (Philth & Volatile Cycle), SMP, Sublimit and Transforma.  It's been a pleasure to have them involved and we thank them for their contributions. Mark (Abis) kindly offered to master any tracks that were unmastered, which we are very grateful for.

Tesla Coil (aka Plago) - September Rush

Starting his career in Aus & now currently residing in the UK, Transforma is a forward thinking prolific producer rapidly becoming a household name on the world stage in Drum and bass/Neurofunk. He began cultivating his musical prowess at only 14 years old, playing guitar in metal bands & studying music theory for over a decade. A yearning for a new challenge led him to his greatest project to date. In the last 10 years Transforma has undeniably cemented his place amongst the elite in the Australian bass music scene & now the worldwide Drum and Bass community, and is fast becoming known for his sonics and attention to detail on a global scale. His focus has been drawn by the immaculate and in-depth sound design that is characteristic of neurofunk and tech dnb.

Non-stop hard work and dedication has respectively landed him releases, signings and label affiliation with some of the worlds leading labels and artists, Being featured on many promotional channels and has also landed a few chart topping releases on Beatport throughout his career.

And Additionally, has performed all around Europe in countries such as Spain, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary & the UK. And has performed all over Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US. Transforma has also made appearances at festivals throughout Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand including his debut at Let it roll in 2017.

2022 was a bit of a quiet year for this hard working, forward thinking producer. But he is ready to strive forward and make this the busiest year of his career yet. With talks of a debut LP in motion, new representation & a clear mindset. There will be no stopping him making serious moves in 2023 and beyond.
