In 2015, J. Maikel visited his first techno festival and since then he was immediately in love with this kind of music. After his first visit to the very well known event “Reaktor'' in Amsterdam, he decided to get into DJing so in 2018 he bought two turntables and a mixer and started learning the basic skills of DJing with vinyls by himself.

Now he is strongly inspired by old school sounds from the late 90’s & early 00”s, but two years ago he discovered the fast-paced hypnotic and groovy techno. Now he blends both of them, giving as result his unique track selection.

He his also co-owner of the platform Dailytechno with his friend Alloctone, where they upload a track per day, always trying to show up with amazing stuff! We can definitely say that there is a lot of hard work behind so you better go and check it!

As a 27 year old Techno producer and DJ based in Amsterdam, Romens Dawn's sole mantra is to make people dance.
Heavily inspired by percussive music from his Carribean origins and a love for both hard grooves and hypnotic sounds on the dancefloor, he always tries to implement the sound and feelings of his personal experiences in his tracks and mixes.
With releases coming up, and a wide arsenal of heavy groove bangers in his playlists he's aiming to translate his interpretation of techno to the world in the coming period of time.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the closing track “Mycelium” that is punchy and fierce. The intense chopping layers and rambunctious hats are led by the glorious, bouncing bassline that really sums up a classic take on techno with plenty of contemporary and forward thinking flair.
