Sophia Hayes-Jackson is a recent graduate of Pacific School of Religion where she earned her MDiv and Certificate of Spirituality and Social Change. Sophia is currently the HIV/PrEP Navigator at Roots Community Health Clinic in East Oakland, moderator of the NCNC UCCBay Association, and clergy lead for WOSA (Women of Spirit Action), a women’s ministry group in the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Sophia hopes to become a prison chaplain; she is also founder of Phoenix Outreach, a recovery and reentry program fostering restoration and transformative change.

Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson is an Affrilachian (Black Appalachian) working class woman and the first Black woman Executive Director of the Highlander Research & Education Center, a historic social justice leadership training school and cultural center. Ash-Lee is a long-time activist working against environmental racism and for workers rights, racial justice, and women’s and LGBTQUIA+ rights across the South. She serves on the governance council of the Southern Movement Assembly and is a nationally recognized leader in the Movement for Black Lives.

Along with her work in the church, she is active in public education advocacy through the organization Dear JCPS.
