We are The Trashcan Bandits: a four piece eclectic band out of Fayetteville, ARkansas.We just put out a full length album called The Righteous and the Wicked. We like to call our music "Swampgrass", and we're writing to you today to see if you could give us a listen and maybe tell us what you think! A link to our Soundcloud is at the bottom of this page.
The Trashcan Bandits has notes of folk/rock/Irish/drinking/party/pirate music. Our instrumentation is as follows: Firstly, Dane our singer plays acoustic guitar with a thumb pick and is very enthusiastic about always exploring new modes and chords..jazzy! Also his voice doesn't fit his wiry frame: he likes to sing deeply with authority. Next to him in the treble instruments is Patti. She plays clarinet and mandolin, about 50/50. She has deep roots in folk and blues having grown up in Joplin, MO, the daughter of a blues/rock guitarist. Her passion for music can be felt in the way she improvises; she was made for the stage. Nicholas is our drummer. He has been in marching band all throughout high school and played mallet percussion in college. He has a nice mixture of bringing jazz drums, but also knows composition and what the music may call for. He also played the banjo on our album. Lastly, Ed plays the bass guitar, but began his musical journey with the trumpet from middle school to a college minor. Ed's approach to the bass is to bridge the gap between rhythm and countermelodies. Ed and Nick work to set the platform upon which Dane and Patti can improvise!
