The debut release from new London label Lost Records sees Darius Syrossian in full swing with the superb ‘Anything Weird’ EP backed with a standout remix from label bosses Leftwing & Kody…

Darius Syrossian has become a leading light in House music’s current generation since bursting
on to the scene almost 10 years ago. Building a reputation for quality productions and
performances that has seen him in perpetual demand, he has releases for labels such as Viva,
OFF Recordings and Area Remote. Now the Leeds based DJ/Producer teams up with a brand
new imprint brought to us by the hotly tipped production duo Leftwing & Kody.

The ‘Anything Weird EP’ kicks off with the original version of ‘I’ll Do Anything’, a beautifully
produced slice of tough House music with a subterranean bouncy bassline, classic techno
cymbals and snares and an infectious old school vocal line, quality stuff. The original version is
followed with a remix from label bosses Leftwing & Kody who put their own audibly arousing
twist on Syrossian's track - adding in some irresistible fluttering claps and chopping up the
vocals to add a different intensity to the whole vibe. Faster and with a unique fierceness, it's a
remix that remains on par with the original.

The final track of the EP shows the breadth and true talent of Syrossian; 'I'm Not Weird Your
Just Normal' has a deep growling bass and truly contagious chord harmony, adding a little
element of humour and wonky fairground vibes to the track.
This is a killer debut from the Lost Records label and another winner from the ever-reliable
Darius Syrossian.

Patrick Topping’s productions have an effortless swagger when it comes to working the dancefloor and still only on his second EP, the North-East’s star in the making is showing plenty of nous with his massive debut for Hot Trax and now the intoxicating ‘Any Amounts EP’ on Hot creations. A-side ‘Any Amounts’ is getting hammered by Jamie Jones and crew, packed with stomping bass and ridiculously infectious top-lines, it’s a simple and dangerously effective weapon to destroy all dancefloors. ‘The Point’ moves into glitchier territory with another tough and raw bassline and old-school synths. On the flip, ‘Look Around’ weaves provocative vocal clips with heavy bass, a disembodied chorus and syncopated beats. Last but not least Patrick pairs another breathless vocal sample for ‘In My’ with a stripped back bumpin’ house groove, arpeggiated synths and subaqueous growl.

Patrick Topping delivered his first EP ‘Walk On’ on off-shoot Hot Trax earlier this year, which reached no.5 in the Beatport Deep House charts and was championed by Pete Tong on his legendary BBC radio 1 show.

With his tracks gaining support from heavyweights Franck Roger, Richy Ahmed and Darius Syrossian and Jamie Jones even before they were signed, it was only a matter of time before the budding artist broke into the limelight.

Now 24 years old Patrick, first built a DJ career around playing at his own popular club night in Newcastle, Motion while at Uni but started concentrating on production in 2011. Through the old-fashioned demos route, Patrick caught the attention of the Hot Creations camp as they recognised the talent and Patrick’s innate ability to craft a banging record.

This year he made his Ibiza debut, at no less than DC10 for Paradise in July and continues to make his name heard on the international stage with plenty of gigs lined up.

Things look set to be big for Patrick next year with a track signed to the Defected Miami CD coming early next year and remixes on the way for Circus Recordings and Resonance Records.

Off the back of Kry Wolf’s release, Food Music returns with another quality release, this time from UK duo ‘Danism’, and collaborator ‘Rae’.

Dan Smith (of Liquid People fame) and Drum n Bass tyrant Dan Nu:Tone, collectively known as ‘Danism’, are no strangers to the UK club scene. Sharing instrumental and production talent alongside an ability to move the dance floor makes Danism an unstoppable duo. With previous releases receiving widespread support and having featured on labels such as Noir Music, the Danism EP sees the pair deliver two huge tracks that promise to shake up clubs all over.

First up is ‘Sirens’. The track begins with an atmospheric and dreamy intro before switching up into a roaring bass-led groover.  Combining the growling bass with a serious rolling beat makes ‘Sirens’ a guaranteed weapon for the club.

 On the flip is ‘Work on this’, which builds on a repeated and hypnotizing vocal before diving into a punchy drop. As the track develops, the sub-bass and sweeping tones make ‘Work on this’ one to tremor dance floors with a killer sound system.

"Vertigo" is a pure gold nugget of acid artistry and "Trubble" is the filthy cousin who didn't brush her teeth or change her pants for a week. If you've managed to catch Eats Everything live this year, you will have seen what all the fuss is about and if you were lucky enough to manage a chat with him, you will have seen why we all love this guy so much. It's not so often that a record comes from such a lovable source and I expect this one to set a mark as one of the strongest point in his career.
