There was a time when to die was something slightly different from what it is today. Back in the last days of the middle age, some hidden monk was concerned about how to die properly, according to the catholic standards of that era, so he wrote a book that was a cornerstone in that period.

This has been the leitmotiv and inspiration in the concept that drives this album, the "Ars Moriendi" book from 1415, a book that gave some clues about how to die properly, avoiding lack of faith, despair, impatience, avarice or spiritual pride, all those actually track titles in this compendium.

Soma label heads Slam are back on home turf with another high pressure release, the Sense Of Purpose EP. The pairing of Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle hit hard once again with 3 expertly crafted tracks that give a nod to the roots of the tougher side of Techno.

Opening track Capture harks to the unrelenting nature of early 2000s Techno. A sturdy blend of hammering percussive elements, backed by rebellious vocals make for a typically high octane track Slam. False maintains the pressure but has a more warped and hypnotic hook that adds even darker overtones. Episode closes out the EP and has a trademarked Slam groove element whilst still remaining rough and ready as added dubbed out atmospherics and pads play to the tracks deeper momentum.

OMEN Recordings continues to push forward with no brakes. For our 14th release, we are bringing back Los Angeles based artist, and co-founder, AXKAN, who contributes two original tracks to this hard-hitting EP. Other artists adding their renditions to this project are London based, Manni Dee, and Serbian artist, Scalameriya.

Stealing the show for this Scalameriya Remix are prominent lead synth melodies that are well arranged around the break-beat pattern that compliments the original track. It definitely takes you by surprise in the way new parts are introduced, but never derailing from its persistent hard techno style.

Dimitar is part of the Bulgarian Stamina crew, which is responsible for some of the highest quality events in Sofia recently, and also takes part of a project that helps young artists from the local scene in developing their production skills.
