Phyr Records is the new label from Italy's Pyramidal Decode that has featured top artists like Takaaki Itoh, Dimi Angélis, PWCCA, and Oliver Rosemann, since launching in 2024. Now presenting a joint LP release with Oscar Mulero titled 'Il Poema,' this follows four albums already in just three years.

Pyramidal Decode lists prestigious appearances on labels including Jeff Mills' Axis, Oscar Mulero's Warm Up, Bas Mooy's Mord, and Svreca's Semantica, among many other significant techno imprints as he continues to explore his trippy, cerbral sound.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Virgilio" with it's brooding tension from the throbbing percussion programming. Driving, chopping frequencies and modular accents develop the aesthetic to a wild journey of intensity and contemporary purism.

Acid and break beat are coming back, and that can be heard in Jam El Mar’s remix. Jam El Mar drops a snapping acid line, thick kick and has a massive pad engulfing the mix, this is a big room techno anthem with a hint of trance.

EARLIEST MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Maybe the most important musical influence was when I first heard Jimi Hendrix’s 'Voodoo Child' and the b-side 'All Along The Watchtower’. It was a five-inch single and ended up looking like a spiral, from the number of plays it got on my turntable.

This release was the ignition to become a guitarist and a musician. When Henrix played his hi-gain sounds it has the same intensity and expression similar to that of todays techno music, I think anyway. HIs guitar didn’t sound like a guitar, and more like an electrical thunderstorm.

Later when I discovered electronic music, it was mainly Tangerine Dream that has been a strong influence and Klaus Schulze. They had this intense atmosphere that you can maybe hear on some of my older productions that I did. When I heard the early R&S Records like 'Energy Flash', ‘Metasm' and 'Acid Phase' - I was set on fire with inspiration, and still am today.
 

IDEAL SETTING TO LISTEN TO THIS?
Most likely a main room techno party dance floor, with a top-notch sound system, sweat dripping from the walls and a comet passing by. LOL. I simply love high energy moments in contrast to deep vibes in a perfect flow. ‘Snake’ has these changes from major to minor that give it a certain intensity together with that sizzling tone building up throughout.
 

FILE IT NEXT TO?
‘Snake’ sits next to my collection amongst other atmospheric tracks like ‘Sooth’ also by 2Pole or ‘Premonitions’ by Saturn Storm, not forgetting Charlotte de Witte’s ‘The Healer’.

Madrid based artist _asstnt returns to his newly formed Opera 2000 label with four pounding techno cuts entitled ‘Heartless’ EP.

_asstnt’s sound comes from the heart of a passionate artist conveying romanticism, truth and dedication within his music and philosophy. The DJ and producer from Madrid breaks into the underground scene with an industrial, dirty and melancholic sound that stems from his love for hardstyle or hardcore that was instilled in him from an early age. In 2017 his first track was released on an Involve Records compilation together with the artist Roll Dann before starting the Opera 2000 label together in 2020 whose inaugural release saw the light of day in February 2020 and picked up support from the likes of Charlotte de Witte, Matrixxman, Truncate, Fernanda Martins and many more.

'Broken Ties’ rounds things off with a 90s trance feel featuring psychedelic, revolving bass notes and fast-paced grooves that continue to pulsate throughout the effervescent finisher.

Hidden continues its thorough exploration into the deep and hypnotic realm of techno with an avant-garde and dance-floor ready release by mainstay JC Laurent, titled Through Differences. Included is an instantly recognizable remix by spatial sound virtuoso, Mike Parker.

Side A begins with "Through Differences" and its rich, organic textures levitating around clever drum work, building tension then releasing with timely percussion. Featuring Mike Parker’s meticulously honed vision of techno, he’s carves out a brutal remix matching his vintage ritualistic sound locked into its own space and frequency.

Side B begins with "Backwards" and its raw drums aggressively paving the way for an edgy, stripped-down and intense vibe. "Navigates Time" and Space locks you in immediately with a groovy baseline and rolling snares for a special after-hours feeling.

DJ, sound producer, resident of the Synthesis lab promo team and party organizer. His sets are in demand in techno clubs in Russia and Ukraine. A powerful, punchy and at the same time hypnotic sound is the artist's calling card. Since 2020, Ben Singular has included tracks in its own performances.
Musical taste began to form to the accompaniment of Prodigy, and a passion for DJing arose at the Global Gathering Ukraine 2009 festival. Since 2019, he has been organizing events in St. Petersburg (Bashni and Motive clubs) and Ukraine (Bermuda and Zephyr clubs). Ben understands the psychology of the dance floor, charges people with emotions and drive.
