Insane

Andy Moon creates with "Sleepwalker" a heavy forward motion that is powered by a monstrous excellent roaring sound. As he told us it is a "result of sound-shaping involving an electric guitar and synths with tons of effects" which in the course of the track is undergoing minor changes while melodies close in and cut through that sound. "Sleepwalker" is a cliffhanger.

We welcome back DJ Endo with his new track "Take Off". Wer are fans of his music and are happy to feature here another fantastic piece of KRAUT music. We think here of Manuel Göttsching but we certainly know the comparison is a bit off. Nevertheless the minimalist German trance of the 70ies finds its home here. Call it progression or whatsoever it is done in a very sophisticated cool way. On top he sets exclamation marks with mighty lead sounds slicing through from time to time which is nice as well.

Secret Feelings closes out a strong spring season with a new single from label boss JFR. Hailing from Argentina but currently calling Spain home, Juan Franco Rivero aka JFR has carved out a unique sonic identity in the world of progressive and organic house, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Enjoying a steady rise since emerging 2017, it was 2021 which proved to be a breakout year for JFR, as the Argentine continued his upward trajectory with a standout release for UK behemoth Anjunadeep; a project which would lead to offerings via Clubsonica and Musique de Lune across the next calendar year, and in turn garnering support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Sebastian Leger. 2023 would also bring newfound success for JFR, launching his Secret Feelings imprint in September with 'Anatonic', before ending the year with the critically acclaimed five-track showcase '21 Angels'. With four successful single's to begin 2024, the most recent of which was May's 'Kain', the Barcelona resident continues to build his Secret Feeling imprint with a new single entitled 'Bichu', alongside remixes from Scippo and Saintbull.

Beginning with the Original Mix, JFR finds a perfect balance between dancefloor energy and arcane musicality. Full of quirky melodic qualities, the Barcelona resident expertly blends plush kick drums, warm rolling grooves and cascading synth phrases, all perfectly bound together with tight compact drum arrangements. Further revealing his keen sense of dancefloor dynamics across the break, JFR expands the narrative amidst waves of colour and texture; all blanketed with dramatic overlays, before a classy drop cues a wave of noise and soaring finale, complete with key-changing grooves and tension filled tones.

Making his label debut and providing the first remix of 'Bichu' is Scippo. The Argentina born, Spain based artist arrives on the label following an EP for Canada's Strange Town Recordings to begin the year. The Flown Records boss always seems to craft something unique in all his remixes, and that holds true here as he strips the majority of atmosphere away and dubs down the melodies into rhythmic co-actions for a contemporary dancefloor romp. 

Also making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'Bichu' is Saintbull. The Spanish artist and Perfect Balance label boss brings further diversity to the project with a melodic house and techno slant on the track, one which is very much sitting within the genre's trends at the moment. Saintbull stays quite true to the melodic themes from the original here, but with a tougher more compact framework, crunchy rhythm section and a healthy dose of astral aesthetics, this should not only fair well on the dancefloor, but closes the release out on a tougher note. Highly recommended.
