Noa van Volen joins us for the 75th episode of our guest-mix series!

From an early age Noa knew that music meant a lot to her. It has always been a safe-zone for her and a way to fully express herself. For a long time she hesitated to commit to music because she felt like it was "a men's thing". At age 19 she thought "fuck it" and bought her first mixer and taught herself how to DJ and also how to produce music. Which resulted in 2 releases on Rendr records and her most recent track "Uptown" which is out on NEED records. 
Up until now it has just been a side-job for Noa but she aims to make a living out of music and share her passion with as many as possible.

Berlin native and Inkal founder, Ben Rau delivers two brand new mixes of the Roy Ayers classic 'Holiday'.
Titled after his record label 'Inkal', Ben's first pass of 'Holiday' makes use of the original's distinctive piano motifs over a bouncy and urgent big-room house groove; surely destined to become a summer essential for house DJs all over the globe.
Taking its name from his brand new imprint, the 'Meta' mix goes deeper, with afro-tinged percussion and rolling, techno-inspired drums leading the way toward an original organ solo over warm bass and hypnotic chords.
Recorded in the late 70's, unearthed by BBE and issued on the second volume of unreleased Virgin Ubiquity recordings, 'Holiday' is a languid, sun-drenched jazz- funk classic; vintage Roy Ayers. The track was previously reworked in 2005 by Kenny Dope and DJ Spinna to global acclaim.

My interest in electronic music started with satellite television. The first time I heard The Prodigy on the ViVa music channel, it intrigued my meanderings.
As I got older, I started earning and saving money and from the age of 16. Bought my first DJ equipment, it was a golden Pioneer Cdj 100 and a Behringer mixer, so let's see what DJ Tiesto played at Live under the bridge afterparty. TMF 2005 that was in my head.
Various interests and tastes in music have awakened, try everything and see what kind of sound I will find that will sink into my bones, where I will convey my emotions through sound waves, say, tell with melodies, and that is love.
Sven Vath, I love him, his energy doesn't give up, let's move on, that euphoria made me fall in love even more with deep groove, progressive sounds, visions, deep.

I played publicly for the first time in club 100 in Velika Gorica in 2008, and that's how it started, together with appearances at Jarun, Londoner, Aquarius, Mungos, Fanatik, Jedinica, GjuroII, F klub, OTV, Depo, Sound Factory, I was interested for the festivals Exit, Invasija, which gave me the special feeling and difference of playing outdoors.
In 2015, together with Filip, the two of us started a joint collaboration called Slicer&Dic3r, we experimented with sounds, followed people, had a crazy time, played wacky, joked, supported and laughed, it was a very happy and good experience, 2018 . I had the opportunity to play on my own desk in the basement of VictorieCRO, creating and playing with sounds, it's wonderful to feel the sounds traveling through your body.
I am glad and grateful that I played on various programs, there were also collaborations with more famous ones, some of them are CORTEX THRILL, Cid Inc., Ilija Djokovic, Siniša Tamamović, Fixsell, Mary, Toxic, Blacksoul, FSOZ , Miche, Asta Nova&Mo'Funk, The Yellowheads...
I continue as DicƎr, further into sound research, because that's what they say that music is something that guides you, that you can't live without.

So, keep your head straight up and let yourself be creative!
