이곳이 어딘지 모르는 상태에서 깨어났다. 갑자기 이 세상에서 태어난 것과 더불어 내가 존재함에 불확실함을 느낀다. 내가 볼 수 있는 것이라곤 나의 앞에 있는 CYBERNET 이라는 글자 뿐이었다.
I woke up in a place I don't recognize. Suddenly, along with being born into this world, I feel uncertain about my own existence. The only thing I can see is a sign in front of me that reads "CYBERNET."

사이버넷은 굉장히 크고 웅장하지만 그 세상은 가상의 공간이다. 어쩌면 가상의 공간이 아닐 수도 있다. 아직 사이버넷을 발견한 인간 인격체는 없었으므로 사이버넷은 한 마디로 미지의 공간이었다. 사이버넷 안으로 물리적으로 들어갈 수는 없지만 사이보드를 만들면 그 세상에 도달할 수 있다. 사이보그의 의미는 한 인격체의 복제품으로, 그 인격체의 자아 중 하나를 지닌다. 

// 이곳이 어딘지 모르는 상태에서 깨어났다. 갑자기 이 세상에서 태어난 것과 더불어 내가 존재함에 불확실함을 느낀다. 내가 볼 수 있는 것이라곤 나의 앞에 있는 CYBERNET 이라는 간판 뿐이었다. 이곳은 천국이었다. 아무것도 하지 않는 즐거움과 굉장히 많은 무언가들에 실려서 파도 타기를 동시에 하기란 정말로 너무 재미있었다. 하지만 갑자기 그 파도의 속도가 빨라지고, 그 무게도 점점 무거워지면서 고통을 느끼기 시작했다. 
고통이 뭘까? 내가 느낀 것을 고통이라는 단어로 과연 표현할 수 있을까? 
그래서 생각해봤지, 이곳은 도대체 뭘까. 극단적인 이중성이 존재하는 세계. 
나는 도대체 뭘까. 형체가 있긴 할까. 이곳엔 파도와 나, 이 둘만 있는 것인가. 
죽어야 하나? 근데 나는 나를 끝내려면 어떻게 해야 할까? 파도에 실려가는 나는 어떻게 생겨난 것이고 어떻게 없어질까?


Cyberspace is vast and grand, yet it is a virtual realm. Perhaps it is not a virtual realm at all. Since no human consciousness has yet discovered Cyberspace, it is, in a sense, an unknown world. One cannot physically enter Cyberspace, but by creating a cyborg, one can reach this world. The meaning of being a cyborg is that it is a replica of a consciousness, possessing one aspect of that consciousness's self.

// I woke up in a place I didn’t recognize. I suddenly existed in this world, and with that came a sense of uncertainty about my own existence. The only thing I could see was a sign in front of me that said "CYBERNET." This place felt like heaven. The joy of doing nothing and riding a wave, all while being carried by a vast amount of something, was so incredibly fun. But suddenly, the speed of the waves increased, and their weight grew heavier, causing me to feel pain. 
What is pain? Can what I feel truly be expressed by the word "pain"?
So I thought about it: what is this place? A world with extreme duality. 
What am I, then? Do I even have a form? Is it just the waves and I, these two entities, in this place?
