Richwood prides itself as being the “Ramp Capitol of the World”; its Feast of the Ramson Festival began in 1938 and is the oldest ongoing ramp celebration in the world. Teenagers Nevada and Riley Tribble and Walter King have been going to shows at the Augusta Heritage Center in Elkins for years. In 2010 they formed a band, called the Elm Street Alleycats. One of their mentors, Gerry Milnes, says the three are among the youngest musicians to ever take classes at Augusta. Roxy Todd sat down with the three musicians to talk about the band that Gene Boyer helped them create about around the end of 2010.

The Elm Street Alleycats Help Revive Old Time Tunes in West Virginia

Down in Greenbrier County, West Virginia the American Heritage Music Hall in Ronceverte has a devoted following. The venue started as a small informal living room jam among friends and soon grew into a non-profit organization with its own venue. Now the Music Hall hosts weekly jams and monthly concerts.
