This is my latest work, an audio-visual composition where a cellular automata algorithm (Conway's 'Game of Life') is visualized by two intertwined video streams. The visualized algorithm is then used to generate audio, where sixteen FM synthesizer modules are driven sixteen divisions of the video screen. The amount of pixels activated in each section of the screen drives the modulation index, tremolo rate, and general gain of each module, producing this as a final result, though this result varies due to the unpredictable nature of the algorithm. 

The entire piece was programmed in Max, using Jitter for the visuals, and Gen for the synthesis modules.

The piece premiered at the 'Music in Nature' concert held on February 28, 2013 at Ramapo College of New Jersey. This piece was also performed at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (NYCEMF) in April, 2013.

System/Disperse

This is an study in composing with 24-tone equal temperament tuning. The piece was synthesized and composed using Csound, 5 sequenced completely with the score note-list. This work employs a 3-voice serial texture with a 24-note tone row. Final mixing, delay and reverb was conducted in Pro Tools.

Microtonal Study No.1

Because I can't make the littleBits jam that will be going on at the Dark Circuits festival, I decided to develop a series of improvisations on the new littleBits Synth Kit my lovely wife bought for me. Very little editing has been done on this audio, mostly removing pops and clicks when connecting and disconnecting modules. The performance is straight through; one take.
