Music from Jinns and Tonic [Ep.3: Tennis Club Jazz]

There is quite an organic history to the Jinns and Tonic video series; heavily inspired by Katarakt’s Stoner House mixes and motivated by the termination of EELF’s first channel short of 200,000 subscribers. The first episode served as a call-to-action for rebuilding the temple that introduced multiple generations of listeners to the delicate pleasures of LoFi House. The culture pulled through and introduced new music from Quasar, DJ Ædidias, Nørus and several other young producers; setting a new precedent for premiering Various Artists compilations through YouTube/SoundCloud and giving exclusive content to the gate-keepers that deserve recognition for their curatorial duties. Consequently, Critique is scaling the influence of its artists and itself by facilitating these opportunities for all heavy-hitters, up-and-comers and superior-selectors to participate in something special, rooted in love for audiovisual ecstasy.

The third episode features the Critique wrecking crew DJibouti, DJacuzzi and GL4M alongside Rob Soul artist Dan Corco, Georgia State University student David Bulay, Francophone extraordinaire DJ Psychiatre and LoFi House's newest wizard TOMATOSLICE. While keeping to the series’ roots, “Tennis Club Jazz” departs from creating another hazy, expansive atmosphere and enters the Spring Equinox’s dance floor via red carpet, catwalk strut. “I collaborated with the South Korean singer and artist ÜJEAN on this EP, with Marc Brauner remixing one of the tracks. I wanted to explore diverse influences, most of which had never been included in my music in the past. It's a versatile piece - and one that I'm very happy with!” - Crowd Control.

Crowd Control has been heading up Happiness Therapy since 2018, flying the flag for France’s underground music scene ever since. An established DJ, producer and event curator, his label has gone from strength to strength, boasting an already solid back-catalogue of productions, with many more to come!

Montreal's local Stereo club resident DJ and producer Paolo Rocco continues to showcase his captivating style by delivering 'RAWM 03', the third release on his RAWMoments imprint which features two originals as well as remixes by Okain and Jack Wickham. 

Setting the tone for the EP is the lead track titled 'This Life', which features a pacing house rhythm at the foundation of swirling atmospherics and yearning vocal licks. It's Paolo Rocco's definition of house music, which has the natural ability to hypnotize the dancefloor.

Following three sold-out releases on his own imprint, @telfort steps up to make his first full outing on fellow Edinburgh-based label @lionoilindustries with a four-track EP titled 'Rooms For Speculation'.

Telfort's ear for crafting lush deep house has seen his cuts become a fixture in sets by the likes of Move D, Moxie and Smallpeople. On this new offering he's on fine form again, underpinning blissfully rolling piano chords and gliding strings with punchy bass on them title-track.
