Premiere : Möd3rn - Voyageur [Möd3rn]

Depuis 2015 j’ai fais 162 concerts. A chaque concert je faisais des nouveaux morceaux improvisés. Alors quand l’inspi venait c’était stylé, puis quand l’inspi venait pas c’était naze. Mais comme l’inspi, elle prévient pas, dans les deux cas j’enregistrais. A la fin de la tournée, iTunes affichait 8,2 jours de son. Alors j’ai tout réécouté, les moments de merde je les ai laissé, les moments biens je les ai bossé. Et de fil en aiguille devinez ce qui est apparu : un album.

C’est le résultat d’un gros taff et en même temps c’est comme si ces morceaux avaient poussés tout seul
Ils sont tous composés et enregistrés en live, j’ai mis les infos dans les titres des morceaux, vous verrez ya des concerts où j’étais grave sous inspi et puis d’autres où y avait carrément rien à garder.
S’il y a autant de morceaux dans l’album c’est parce que c’est un album hors format (dans le cas où quelqu’un vous poserait la question)
Mais donc comme la plupart d’entre vous auront pas le temps de tout écouter j’ai demandé à des gens qui comptent pour moi ainsi qu’à des gens bons que j’ai rencontré sur la route, de digger dans la tracklist pour vous dire quel titre écouter en premier

Following their debut live performance at Rainbow Serpent Festival under the new alias Eyssenah earlier this year, here we see Shlømo and AWB combine to reveal the project’s debut release, compiled of five tracks that span intelligent, ambient sound design through to driving, precise techno cuts.
‘Capsule’ opens the package in spellbinding fashion as the duo expertly weave together a web of rich textures, ethereal atmospherics and mesmerising soundscapes, before the dynamic ‘Dabla’ marches forth, armed with sharp hats, crisp claps and snaking synth lines to reveal a high octane, rolling groove aimed at the peak time.
On the flip, title cut ‘Stardust Breaker’ keeps the pressure high, as electro tinged lead lines and weighty kicks collide with ever evolving, raw melodies, whilst ‘Ghost Kamikaze Attack’ sees the pairing lay the focus on slick broken beat arrangements accented by warped vocal licks and hypnotic synths. To conclude, the aesthetic is once again shifted as the warping ‘Saike’ introduces off kilter glitches and wicked bass licks amongst resonant vocal shots and blissful, almost nostalgic melodies, concluding an impressive debut offering from the project and yet another stand out release under the Taapion catalogue.

El Leopardo is an exciting new live electronic group driven by legendary Colombian producer Dani Boom. With their debut EP released on 12” on award winning Glitterbeat Records, support from Gilles Peterson and a show at Trans Musicales festival last Dec as part of their sold out France/Denmark tour in 2017 things are hotting up quickly.

Morphing urban dub textures with deep hypnotic rolling bass and sparse Colombian percussion, El Leopardo have brought the Colombian jungle to the club. The Culture Trip recently described them as “One of the most exciting sounds to come out of Bogota this year.”
