London-based underground house producer Daniel Orpi is set to make his House Keepers Records debut with an energetic two-track EP titled Gamma Rays, dropping Friday, May 14. This Barcelona-born up and comer has recently started to garner attention from some of the scene’s heaviest hitters due to his diverse mixes and knack for music production, which this next release clearly demonstrates. 

Title track “Gamma Rays” wastes no time, immediately hitting listeners ears with a thumping bass line that quickly builds into a high-tempo jacking beat. Featuring a chopped-up vocal and deep percussive sounds that gives the track a spaced-out tribal feel, this high-energy groover is perfected for peak hour play. On the B-side, “Whatever You Say” pulls from Orpi’s hip-hop influences with layers of syncopated bass, sizzling hats and a funky vocal sample to create a driving cut that is begging to be rinsed on the dance floor.

Since his first solo EP in 2018 on Jesse Perez’s imprint Mr. Nice Guy, Orpi has turned the heads of some of the scene’s most notable names, including Claude Vonstroke & Solardo and more. He has also has graced labels across the globe, including Cuff, Saved Records, Stereo Productions, just to name a few. Not to mention, his EP “Touch Me” on Kaluki Musik hit #1 on Beatport’s Tech House Release chart. And he shows no signs of slowing. For 2021, Orpi’s release schedule is filling up fast, so it’s easy to see that this house music dynamo is one to keep an eye on.

@markjohnsonaudio follows suit with a heavier groove that’s bound to have you stopping and waiting for nothing but the drop🔊 to round up this masterpiece we welcome back @sonysynth who you may remember from a couple of weeks ago due to his crazy edit of ‘Would You Mind’, and after hearing that it’s no wonder why we got him back for this project🙌

They've previously held down a residency at Spartacus Club for almost a decade, a real hub of underground sound in Marseille, and have played all across Europe while also dropping tunes on the likes of CUFF, Get Physical, Snatch! and many more. The opener 'Get High' is a crisp and kicking tech house cut that runs on futuristic synth flashes and smart vocal samples. A killer bassline steeped in low end propels the whole track forward to make for a surefire winner on the dancefloor. 'Dribble In This And That' is more classic house laced with slick drum programming and acid textures, while steamy female vocals and balmy synths add plenty of warmth and soul to finish in style.
