Liz Torres has one of those voices that make so much sense in a sweaty nightclub at 4am. Pure filth but with a sensuality that instigates all maner of lewd behaviour on the dancefloor!. This is probably my favourite track of hers and for the edit I've used the album version, which for me provides a far deeper journey than the 12' mix.

Also, if your around next weekend, I'm DJing on Saturday 26th March at East Village in Shoreditch. Other DJ's on the night include Matt & Jim from Sancho Panza, Stuart Patterson and Freddy Love so it should be a fine evening indeed.

"Jack Your Body" was Steve "Silk" Hurley's first song released under his name as the artist, but not really the first (or the last) he released. It became one of the landmark records in the history of House music. Written and produced by Hurley, Jack Your Body became a major hit on the UK singles chart, reaching #1 for two weeks in January and February 1987. This was the UK's first house music #1, showing it was possible for house music to cross over. It paved the way for the acid house sound popular there during the late 1980s.

Now, with the new remixes of "Jack Your Body" years later by (Doorly, Ki Creighton & Olav Basoski), Steve "Silk" Hurley collaborates with today's hottest DJ / Remixers  in the dance world to reinvent the sound that made Chicago and House Music famous. The third volume in Kai Alce and DJ Spinna ’s ‘Foundations’ 7” vinyl series traces the roots of House music back to 1985, with Chip-E and K-Joy’s DJ International classic ‘Like This’.

Appearing on a ’45 for the very first time, ‘Like This’ exemplifies the early Chicago House sound that Chip-E pioneered during the early 80’s. Featuring raw, distinctive vocals from K-Joy, the track also stars a young Frankie Knuckles speaking the track’s title, in possibly his first ever studio session (it would be two years before Chip-E would bring him back into the studio to have a go at making a record of his own, but that’s another story).

BBE Music’s 7” reissue features an exclusive edit of the original extended 12” version of ‘Like This’, a cut which still simply can’t fail to move a dance-floor or bring a big smile to the face of any respectable house-head, more than three decades on from its creation. On the flip side, Kai and Spinna selected the ‘DDDub’ mix, a percussive and rugged, stripped down workout, which has stood the test of time brilliantly.
