For the first ever edition of The Ottawa International Music Conference, my friend Trevor and I decided to do something special and bring back the 4 decks set that we used to do in the early 2000’s in Montreal. Truth be told, this was only our third time doing it. Trevor and I have been friends for over 2 decades and have played together numerous time. He’s been a Resident at Mercury Lounge since the beginning 18 years ago, and a long time master selector at Ottawa’s best clubs and parties as well as countless Radio shows. The man knows music and can blow your mind in any circumstances. It was an honor to finally be able to re-create this experience. Without any rehearsal, we found each other right away as if we did this every week. As with any 4 Decks session, the result can be unpredictable at time and far from perfect, teasing tracks, added bonus beats, Loops, FX and random Acappellas, but it’s exactly that specific vibe that made it special. So here it is, Raw-unedited, Present, Past, Future.

Its raw and recorded live in one take on 3 technics decks, 

I created loops using 2 copies of tracks layered over the 3rd track playing, as well as double beating to crescendos.

this was made pre efx on mixers, proper house music personified! 

I broke many of these names and tracks into the UK for the first time
via this mix, 

Big up Julian Rolf and mixmag for the support. 

The interview that went with this issue is so ridiculous, its almost unprintable! I was called on my phone from gig to gig to after party to after party for over 24hrs... the interview started serious and ended anything but, good times!
